Benjy and Ciri are talking to Eileen and her Grandmother on the castle balcony.

Ciri: Before we go, there’s some information that we need to exchange.

Eileen: Disturbance in the Anima?  What does that mean, grandma?

Eileen’s Grandmother: It means the DWMA  doesn’t know the specifics.  It may not have to do with the Tree of the World’s Beginning, but it probably does.

Ciri: A friend of mine from school was with a group that was looking for it, or some of it.

Kidd: Don’t make us leave without you!

Lucario.headset: Ask Ciri if she’s comfortable going faster.  At this pace we won’t make it there before nightfall.

Ash.headset: Roger that.

Ash: Hey Ciri…

While Ash informs Ciri about Lucario’s calculation, Yami Benjy is now sitting down, doing something to a poké ball.

Yami Benjy: We need to catch that guy if we want to learn about Mew Aqua.  No one in their right mind lets a chance like this get away.

}

New Scene(@Temporal = Late Morning)

Kidd is driving the humvee again, following Lucario.  Benjy is standing beside Kidd, holding onto a beam in the humvee.  Outside the humvee, the forest starts to slowly turn to a quarry-like environment, except with grass, trees and crystals everywhere, but the trees grow sparser as the road goes on.  After about 30 seconds (real time) of travel, the trees have grown quite sparse, and Lucario stops, causing Kidd to slam on the brakes.

The humvee pulls up behind Lucario who is looking around.  Ciri and May both get out.

Ciri: Lucario!

May: Something the matter?

Lucario: This is the place.

May: Huh?

Lucario: The place where Aaron sealed me in his staff.  I just want to know why.  It was right up there.

Lucario points up a steep nearby ledge.

Voice: It was probably for your own good!

May, Ciri, and Lucario all look around to see where the voice is coming from.

Voice: Heh!  Up here yo!

Benjy jumps from the humvee with the millennium gameboy advance shining, as everyone looks up to see ripples appear on the ledge above them and the sky-elf from before appear.  QST.camera now split-screens briefly.

Lucario: My own good?  Please elaborate.

Sky-Elf: You’re looking for the Tree of the World’s Beginning right?

Lucario: We are…

Lucario puts his hand in front of May, signaling her to back up.

Sky-Elf: Should have guessed.   Then I have something for ya!

May has managed to take out her pokédex and point it at the sky-elf, while the sky-elf takes out a strange device and starts pointing it at Ash and company.  QST.camera focuses on May and her pokédex.

May’s Pokédex: Sky Elf.  An ancient race of humanoids that lived on Fenyra roughly fifteen million years ago.  Modern elves are their descendants.  Authorization is required to access more data on this species.  If you have an authorization code, you may enter it now.

Lucario: May!

Lucario tackles May out of the way as the sky-elf fires a powerful laser beam at where she is standing.  The instant this beam hits the ground it causes a gigantic explosion of rocks and debris.  Lucario and May take shelter with everyone else around the corner of the cliff.

As soon as the dust settles Ash runs out of the shelter of the cliff with a poké ball in hand.

Ash: You’re going to pay for–

Brock: Ash!

Ash scans the sky, looking for the sky-elf, but the sky-elf is nowhere to be found.  This is made clear by Ash’s expression as he searches the sky.

Ash: He’s gone…

Kidd: It’s just as well.

Ash: I’m going to make him pay for that.

Yami Benjy: I’ve got a feeling that we’ll have our chance soon enough.

Kidd now walks back to the Humvee.

Kidd: That’s enough, boys.  All aboard?

Ash curses under his breath, but he boards the humvee back with everyone else Kidd now starts the engine of the humvee to follow Lucario, and the scenery becomes less of a forest and even more of a crystal quarry.  Ciri sits in the passenger’s seat with a headset on, keeping her in contact with Lucario.

Lucario.headset: There are some pillars up ahead in the distance.  There seems to be some kind of aura about them.

Ciri: You think they’re alive?

Lucario.headset: That’s the only explanation.

Yami Benjy: What’s alive?

Kidd’s bus passes a group of pillars, some brown, some white, and some gray, and some blue-gray.

Ciri: Red, blue, and green pillars.

The millennium gameboy advance shines brightly, and Benjy gets up and walks to the front of the humvee.

Benjy: Where are they?

Ciri: Right up there–

Ciri points into the distance, where Lucario is facing three pillars.  QST.camera synchronized with Benjy’s vision for about five seconds (real time), long enough for Benjy’s eyes pulse with light-blue light.

Benjy: What are they…  They look like–

From Benjy’s forehead, circular ripples shoot out in a cone, shooting through the window of the humvee and fanning out.  Lucario sees this behind him as Kidd slows the humvee, and he leaps out of the way of the beam, which strikes the three pillars and appears to soak them.  This appears to wake the pillars, as they blink and open their eyes { Green = Regifloras, Red = Regipyros, Blue = Regiaquas }

Regipyros: Re-gi-py-ro?

The humvee now comes to a complete stop as the three Trigamon look around.  Regiaquas approaches Lucario curiously, but Lucario dodges it.

Regiaquas: Qua?

Regifloras starts to move towards the humvee, which startles everyone inside, and Kidd decides to go around them.  Ciri relays this information to Lucario and both take off just as Regifloras appears to prepare to punch the humvee.  The three Trigamon don’t give chase as Kidd backs up and drives away after Lucario, and over a grassy hill.

Regiaquas: Quaqua?

qout: "What was that?"

Regifloras: Aruq.

qout: "I don’t know, but this mushroom looks tasty."

Regifloras picks a mushroom from the ground near where the humvee was parked

Regipyros: Gi-e-e…

qout: "You don’t have a mouth, dumb ****"

This is proven wrong immediately, as Regifloras holds up the mushroom to the center of it’s chest and takes a bite with a mechanical mouth.

New Scene()

The humvee travels down the pathway, getting ever closer to the tree, and Ash and company start to see move and more time-flowers everywhere.  Kidd decides to collect some for analysis, and stops the humvee about a half-mile from the tree.  Everyone else gets out to help her collect them.

Max: It looks like some were already picked…

Brock: I wonder when that sky-elf will realize what they are.

A few feet from her, Benjy squats down to examine a timeflower, but as he touches it, the ground suddenly begins to shake.  Benjy jumps to his feet, crushing a few time-flowers in the process.  Everyone else is already standing, looking for the cause of the quake.

Kidd: Back to the humvee!

Kidd can only get one step in before something shoots from the ground straight through the humvee, leaving a fissure behind, which the humvee falls into, leaving Kidd aghast.  Whatever shot up into the air, shoots down at May, who stares at it paralyzed in fear.  Lucario grabs her and yanks her out of the way.

The millennium gameboy advance shines brightly, as the creature lands with a large explosion of dirt where May was a second before.

Yami Benjy: Badgerition, the Badger Trigamon.  They appear to suffer from antisocial personality disorder–

Max: Run now, psychoanalyze later!

The Badgerition slams it’s front feet into the ground causing a massive explosion of dirt and rocks, which Yami Benjy dives to avoid, before following everyone else in running away.

Yami Benjy: –which is another word to say they’re all sociopaths!

The Badgerition now slams its front feet into the ground, and with a whooshing noise, starts to cast hyper beam.

Yami Benjy: Get down!

The entire group dives for cover just in time for the hyper beam to go flying over their heads, at a slightly upwards angle, where it crashes into a cliff causing a massive explosion.  Yami Benjy now jumps to his feet.

Yami Benjy: Get in there!

Ash: Um…

Ash doesn’t have time to object before Ciri grabs him and pulls him towards a crevice, followed by May, Max, Brock, and Kidd.

Yami Benjy: Bayleef!

Bayleef appears from it’s ball at Yami Benjy’s side in a flash of light.

Yami Benjy: Razor leaf!

Bayleef shoots razor leaves at Badgerition, which jumps in the air, in preparing to attack Yami Benjy and Bayleef.

May: Benjy!  …mph!

Kidd quickly clamps her hand over May’s mouth, but not before Badgerition notices and turns it’s attention to the group, charging another hyper beam.  Yami Benjy has Bayleef use razor leaf on Badgerition again, and Lucario strikes it with an aura sphere, knocking it’s head enough to cause it’s hyper beam to miss.

In the crevice, Kidd and Ciri are peeking out, and cringe as Badgerition’s hyper beam strikes further along the cliff.  Kidd’s hand that she used to quiet May is bleeding slightly.

QST.camera refocuses as Lucario leaps from the ground to battle Badgerition in midair.  While Lucario manages to get in a few powerful blows, Badgerition sends Lucario flying backwards towards the ground.  Lucario lands on his feet, then collapses to his knees.

Yami Benjy: Magical leaf!

Badgerition lands hard on the other side of Bayleef from Lucario, giving Bayleef the opportunity to strike it with magical leaf after magical leaf.  Despite this damage, Badgerition isn’t dissuaded from charging forwards into Bayleef, doing massive damage to the grass pokémon and knocking it backwards.  Injured, Bayleef hits Badgerition with another magical leaf, just as Badgerition starts to charge again.

Before Badgerition can strike Bayleef, Yami Benjy recalls her, allowing Badgerition to strike at Yami Benjy, who leaps out of the way.  Lucario crashes an aura sphere into Badgerition which stuns it and prevents it from leaping at Yami Benjy, for a split-second anyways.  When Badgerition does leap, Yami Benjy manages to call on Celebi, which smashes Badgerition into the ground with psychic.  Badgerition immediately starts charging a hyper beam.

Kidd: Just run! (softly)

Kidd is holding a poké ball in her hand, ready to call on help if need be.

Yami Benjy: It’s a ground-type!  They dig!

With this, Yami Benjy and Celebi both dodge the hyper beam, which shoots out into the sky over the crevice where everyone else is hiding.

Yami Benjy: Shroomish!

Shroomish emerges from it’s ball in a flash of black and yellow light.  Badgerition starts to charge another hyper beam.

Yami Benjy: Shroomish, shadow rush!

Cloaking itself is shadowy energy, Shroomish hurdles at Badgerition, which turns towards Yami Benjy.  Right before hyper beam can fire, Shroomish crashes into the underside of Badgerition’s chin, and knocking Badgerition’s mouth shut.  This doesn’t stop hyper beam from detonating, however.  The blast sends Shroomish crashing into the ground, and deals massive damage to Badgerition, nearly knocking it out.

Badgerition now staggers back and forth like an angry drunk, whilst Shroomish doesn’t wait for instruction before launching a leech seed at Badgerition.  While the impact of the leech seed does nothing to Badgerition, after about a second, leech seed saps away the last of Badgerition’s health, causing it to crash to the ground unconscious.  Shroomish doesn’t seem all that shaken from the encounter, while Celebi looks a bit traumatized.

Max: Benjy, catch it!

Yami Benjy: Um…

The millennium gameboy advance shines brightly.

Benjy: I don’t think I can train that…

Max: Ash, you should catch it then…

Ash: Um… I’ve had enough trouble with just Charizard.

Max: Then May–

Brock: I don’t think we need a sociopathic pokémon amongst us.

Kidd: Even though it’s technically not a pokémon

May: What is it then?

Kidd: They belong to a different kingdom of animon.  Kingdom in the biological sense that is.  It’s called a "Trigamon."

May: What’s the difference?

Kidd now starts to emerge from the crevice, with the others behind her (save for Ciri).  Celebi clings tightly to Benjy’s shirt, shivering somewhat.

Kidd: They’re harder to train because they don’t respect you innately.

Ash: So…

Brock: Basically you have to earn their trust.

Kidd: Basically, and then it gets tricky to motivate them to battle.

Lucario: So are we just going to leave him here?

Kidd: You really shouldn’t think of it in those terms.  Think of it as we need to get as far away as we can before it wakes up.

May: Wait a minute.

Lucario: Something the matter?

Ash: Where’s Ciri?

New Scene()

Ash peers into the crevice.

Ash: Ciri?

Ciri: Over here!

Ash peers into the dark crevice, and in the darkness a green sphere appears in Ciri’s hand, illuminating Ciri and Zumi.

Ash: What are you doing?

Ciri: I can feel a breeze…  And Zumi can hear things coming from that way.

Ciri points deeper into the crevice.

Brock: Ash, you found her?

Ash: Yeah–

Brock: We’ve got a problem!

Ash: Huh?

Brock: Lucario says that there are more approaching underground!

As Brock finishes this comment, Benjy squeezes past Ash, pulling Lucario with him.

Benjy: Excuse me.

Ash is now pushed forwards as May, Max, Brock, and Kidd crowd into the crevice, until they get to the point where the crevice opens into a cavern.  Kidd and May both peer out of the crevice from a safe distance

Kidd: It makes no sense though, why would a bunch of sociopaths work together?

May: Um… I don’t know?

With a loud, and then a bang, a hyper beam sweeps across the area, mere seconds before a Regice appears (the beam is still sweeping) and launches what looks like a hybrid attack of ice beam and thunderbolt.

May: What’s going on?

Kidd: I don’t know.

Ciri: What’s going on

Kidd: A Regirock and Regice have appears and they’re wreaking the place.

Yami Benjy projects himself.

Yami Benjy: The battle might have attracted them.

Suddenly, the cavern shakes and some of the crystals on the ceiling crash to the floor, which stops Ash from checking his pokédex.

Lucario: Everybody!  This way!

Lucario points in a direction.

Ciri: No, the exit is this way, trust me!

The cavern shakes again as something appears to strike the outside and explode.

Brock: No time to choose!  This way, everyone quickly!

New Scene()

As the tremors continue, but slowly growing fainter, Ash and company make their way through the cave.  Ciri and Lucario are at the head of the group, Ciri wielding an orb of glowing green light, and Lucario using Aura to see.  Zumi is between them, listening for faint noises.

May: Do you think they’re guarding the mew aqua?  (whisper)

No one responds immediately to May’s comment.

May: Hey guys…  (whisper)

Benjy: We only know as much as you do, May.  (whisper)

The group continues to move forwards through the cavern.

Ash: Are you sure you felt a breeze, Ciri?  I can’t feel anything.  (whisper)

Ciri shoots Ash a dirty look.

Ciri: I wouldn’t have said anything if I wasn’t sure.  (whisper)

Ciri: I can still feel it and it’s much stronger now.  Zumi get ready.  (whisper)

Zumi moves her ears in acknowledgement.  Ciri looks around as she says this, and then approaches the wall

Ciri: No point in whispering anymore.

Ash: You sure.

Ciri: Yup.  Zumi, brick break!

Brock: Brick break on what?

Max’s glasses appear to catch light.

Max: The wall of course.

Ciri: It’s only about three inches thick, and it’s already crumbling.

This comment leaves, Ash, Brock, Kidd, Lucario, and Benjy to some degree a bit awestruck.

Kidd: Three inches…  Can Zumi–

Kidd stops talking as Ciri and Zumi start to move in unison, emitting a faint blue light.  Benjy proceeds to scan the wall, along with Lucario.

Lucario: I sense aura on the other side…

Benjy: That looks unstable…

Max turns to Ciri and Zumi.

Max: I know you want to hit that.

#Reference: Hit_That (song–The Offspring)

Nevertheless, Ciri and Zumi hesitate.  Instead, Lucario makes the first move, telling Benjy to get out of the way.  Benjy leaps aside as Lucario crashes an aura sphere into the wall.  While this fails to break it, it definitely makes it looser, prompting Benjy to follow up with a jump kick, striking the wall with his foot.

This impact doesn’t take the entire wall down, but it does dislodge a large chunk, revealing that Ciri’s claim was indeed true.  On the other side of the wall is what looks like a meadow.

Ash: Alright!

Ash calls on Croconaw and Benjy calls on Bayleef, and then Ash asks both of them to break the wall.  Both land a few powerful blows on the wall, and then Bayleef’s tackle-esque attack dislodges a crystal from the ceiling, which Kidd catches.

Brock: Care–

Ciri now steps forwards between the pokémon and the broken wall, giving everyone the wait symbol.  Bracing herself against the broken wall, Ciri exerts enough force to put large cracks in the wall, then collapses panting.

Ash: Three inches, huh?

May: I didn’t expect it to be this difficult…

Benjy: Hmm…

Benjy starts to inspect the wall, but the wall is now weakened enough, that it crumbles away at his touch, revealing that on the other side is the grassy shore a large underground lake, illuminated by many glowing crystals.

Ash exits the crystal passage, followed by Ciri who staggers out, and then by everyone else.  Ciri sits down in the grass against the rock, as soon as she gets out of the way, to recall Zumi.  Ash, May, Max, and Brock stare in amazement down at the lake below, where several Omanyte and Omastar swim peacefully with Barboach.  May and Ash use their pokédexes to scan Omanyte and Omastar, respectively.

Lucario: Any idea of where we are?

Kidd: Some underground lake.

Ash: Hey everyone, I see daylight.

The group looks to see where Ash is pointing, and QST.camera shifts to show a path leading to daylight.

New Scene()

Ash and company emerge from the tunnel in the daylight on a ledge overlooking the path where they just came from.  Registeel are stomping around where they were previously, which looks like a couple miles away.

Brock: So where’s the Tree of the World’s Beginning?

Ash: Good question…

Kidd: It’s right behind us.

Lucario: And above us…

With this, the group turns around (except for Benjy) and everyone proceeds to stare up into the tree.

May: So just now–we were inside it?

Benjy: That’s what I thought.

Ash: Hey Pikachu!

No response comes to Ash’s call.

Brock: It probably can’t hear you.

Ash: Worth a try though, right?

Max: Benjy, is something wrong?

Benjy: I’m keeping an eye on those guys.

Benjy gestures into the distance at the Registeel stomping around in the distance, and a pair of Regice with them, freezing the rock walls of the area.

Kidd: Well, since we’re here I’m going to take some readings.

Before anyone can respond, Kidd drops her backpack on the ground and pulls out a box of probes and an ultra ball.  Kidd flips a switch on a couple of probes and they buzz to life, shooting out of their bag.

Lucario: What are those?

Kidd: They’re mini-probes.  They’ll help Qliqli here–

Kidd taps the ultra ball and a strange disk-like creature appears in a flash of golden light.

Kidd: –analyze what’s going on.  They’re linked wirelessly.

Qliqli glances between, Ash, May, Max, and Ciri nervously.  May points her pokédex at Qliqli, but the pokédex fails to register any data on Qliqli.

May: Huh?

Kidd: She’s a qliphort (pronounced KLI-fort); I think I said that right.

Qliqli now makes a whizzing noise, and starts moving towards Max, before jumping into the air startling him.  QST.camera now synchronizes with Ciri’s vision as she stares up into the tree.  Qliqli flies across Ciri’s field of vision as it (Qliqli) gets a feel for the environment.

Ciri: So our mission is three-fold.  Ash, you and I will search the outside of the tree for Pikachu.

Ash: Why is that?

Max: Does Ciri maybe–

Ciri: Most likely, Pikachu will have made it to the outside of the tree to look for you.  We’re going to need Flygon if we’re going to get around.

Brock: Fair, enough, but what about the rest of us?

Ciri now stops looking up into the tree, and looks at everyone else.  QST.camera is still synchronized with her vision.

Ciri: Brock, Lucario, and Kidd will search for traces of Aaron.

Brock: Why us?

QST.camera now de-synchronizes with Ciri’s field of vision.

Ciri: Because I need Benjy, May, and Max to search investigate the Mew Aqua.

Kidd: But that will mean Qliqli will be with you, Benjy.

The millennium gameboy advance shines brightly.

Yami Benjy: I’m okay with that if you are.

Ciri stares off into the distance and mutters to herself:

Ciri: My theory is that whatever happened to Aaron will be protected somehow.  Kidd’s going to need to play Tomb Raider™ to even get close; and this way Brock will be there if she gets injured.

Brock: Uh, Ciri, did you mean to say that aloud?

Ciri now turns around and looks at Brock, bright red.

Ciri: Um…

Luckily for Ciri, Kidd calls to Brock at this very moment.  QST.camera swivels to show her walking towards the entrance to the Tree of the World’s Beginning, where Lucario is waiting:

Kidd: Sounds’s like a plan.  Brock, lets go we’re wasting daylight!

Unable to argue with this, Brock follows Kidd and Lucario back into the Tree of the World’s Beginning:

Brock: Okay, but just be careful!

Ash: Thanks, we will!

Qliqli lands on May’s head, and Ash picks Qliqli’s ultra ball.

Ciri: Zumi, return!  Flygon, I need you!

In a single motion, Ciri recalls Zumi who is sleeping in the grass, and sends out Flygon, who starts to lie down in Zumi’s spot.

Ciri: Flygon!

Flygon: Flih?

May: Wait!  Where do we start looking?

Yami Benjy: We’ll have to figure that out.

Ciri starts walking towards Flygon, and it jumps to its feet, with a flap of its wings.

Ciri: Let me get on.  Ash, we’re going!

Flygon: !

Ciri beckons to Ash, who also approaches Flygon.  Flygon allows Ciri to climb on, and then nervously allows Ash to board.

Ash: Can he hold?

Ciri: Yup.  Just hold on to something.  Um… my shoulders.

Ash nervously grabs onto Ciri’s shoulders, as she in turn puts her arms around Flygon’s chest.

Yami Benjy: Can he carry–

Ciri nods, then instructs Flygon with which way to go, extending her right arm past Flygon’s nose to show the dragon pokémon which way to go.

Flygon: Gawfly?

Ciri: We need to survey the outside.

Flygon: Gawfly?

Ciri: Yup, liftoff.

With a massive gust, Flygon beats it’s wings hard, and jumps into the air.  QST.camera synchronizes with Ash’s field of vision as he waves to May, Max, and Yami Benjy, then is forced to grab Ciri’s shoulder again.  QST.camera now de-synchronizes from Ash’s field of vision as Yami Benjy watches them, and takes a great ball from his pocket.

Yami Benjy: Satolite!

Satolite emerges from it’s ball with a soft cooing sound.

Yami Benjy: Can you keep an eye on them in case something happens.

Satolite looks where Yami Benjy’s pointing, then lets out a gentle cooing and flies off after Flygon.  Qliqli starts to fly after Satolite, but Max manages to call it back.

May: So do you have any idea of where to start looking?

Yami Benjy takes a deep breath.

Yami Benjy: Inside the tree.

Yami Benjy starts walking back to the entrance taken by Brock, Kidd, and Lucario; May and Max take one more look around before starting to follow Benjy.

May: I wonder if the pokédex will detect it.

Yami Benjy: It’s worth a try

New Scene()

Flygon and now Satolite behind it fly ascend the outside of the tree.

Satolite: Coo! (faint)

Ciri: Is someone following us?

Ash tightens his grip on Ciri’s shoulders, and looks down.

Ash: It’s Satolite.

Satolite: Caw!

Ciri: Smart move.

Flygon seems to struggling slightly.

Ciri: Ash, you want to ride Satolite?

Ash: Hold on.

Ciri: We’ll be able to cover more ground that way…  More branches.

Satolite: Caw!

Satolite doesn’t wait for instruction before it lands on Ash’s back and plucks him from Flygon’s back.  Flygon is obviously happy to be free of the extra weight, as can be seen by a boost in it’s speed.

Ash: Hey wait!

Ash starts to flail in midair, but Satolite has a firm grasp on his backside and doesn’t let go.

Ciri: Satolite can be your wings!

The sound of insects chirping in the background is now heard as Ash ponders this.  Satolite’s outstretched wings glitter in the sunlight.

Ash: Okay, Satolite.  That way.

Satolite beeps, and flies in the direction that Ash is pointing, Ciri and Flygon follow at about twenty feet behind them, while more sounds of the forest permeate the vicinity.

Ash: Hey Pikachu!

Ash listens, but no response comes.

Ash: Ciri…

Ciri: There’s a chance that Pikachu’s not on the outside, in which case the others will find him for sure.

Refresh Scene()

Flygon and Satolite continue to circle the tree.

Ash: Hey Pikachu!

Ciri: Yo Mew!

The wind rushes past Ash and Ciri as they continue to fly.

Flygon: Caw!

Ash: PIKACH–

Ash is unable as he gets a mouthful of air, and is forced to cough.

Ciri: Pikachu!

No one responds to Ciri either.

Ash: Statistically, we haven’t covered very much ground…  But at this rate I don’t know how long my voice will hold out.

Satolite and Flygon now start to round the corner of the tree, with Ash and Ciri both calling out for Pikachu intermittently.  Ciri has Flygon fly closer to the tree so she can scan the branches.  Flygon caws again, as the sound of the noise from the rush of the wind picks up, before caw-ing twice quickly.

Ash: I don’t see anything…

Satolite: Bebeep.

Ciri: Flygon heard something.

Ciri then suddenly looks back over her shoulder nervously, then proceeds to scan the tree.

Ciri: Who goes there!

Sky-Elf’s voice: I do!

QST.camera going into split-screen on Ash/Satolite and Ciri/Flygon, before switching to a more top-down view as the sky-elf appears in front of Ash and Ciri.

Ciri: Ash, this is going to be bad.

With this, Ciri directs Flygon to get between the sky-elf and Satolite.  The sky-elf draws his daggers.

Sky-Elf: Unfortunately I don’t have time for you.  So get lost.

Ash: I’m not going anywhere until I find Pikachu!

Sky-Elf: What’s a Pikachu?

Ciri: It’s a little yellow–

Sky-Elf: I don’t have time for this.

The sky-elf appears to disappear, then reappears next to Flygon, slashing at it.  Flygon dodges this attack with surprising aerial agility.

Satolite: Sato–light!

Sparking, Satolite launches an arc of electricity at the sky-elf, striking him and nearly electrocuting him.  Following this, the sky-elf "teleports" to a distance further from Ash and Ciri.

Ciri: What gives?!

Sky-Elf: I know what you’re really after…

Ciri: Which means here’s where the real fight begins…

Refresh Scene()

Ash and Ciri are flying via means of Satolite and Flygon, respectively in the air nearby the Tree of the Word’s Beginning.

Sky-Elf: I’m not falling for your missing pet story!  This is the end!

The sky-elf draws both his daggers, staring Ash and Ciri down.

Ciri: I still have that time-flower, so if you’ll take it and scram–

With this, Ciri pulls the withered time flower from her pocket and hurls it at the sky-elf, striking him in the forehead.  Following this, Ciri holds out her hand and the time-flower explodes in a blast that sends the sky-elf crashing down at an angle into one of the ledges of the Tree of the World’s Beginning.

Sky-Elf: I won’t let you take any of the Mew Aqua!!!

The sky-elf zips in the air, and attempts to stab Ash with his daggers.  Satolite is too quick to actually let this happen, and Ash returns the blow by calling on Taillow to use wing attack.  Taillow lands wing attack, but this fails to do much, except have the sky-elf try to strike Taillow, which also proves too fast for him.

Ciri: I’ll take him, you find Pikachu!

Ash gulps, then nods and Satolite starts to fly away.  A split-second later the sky-elf warps in front of him, attempting to slash Ash again.

Sky-Elf: You’re not getting away!

Before the sky-elf can actually attack, Flygon smacks him over the head with it’s tail, prompting Satolite to fly out of the area.  And before the sky-elf has a chance to chase after Satolite, Flygon smacks him about with it’s tail, knocking him towards a lower ledge of the Tree of the World’s Beginning.

Ciri: I’m your opponent!  Face me!

Sky-Elf: Fine, I’ll take you out first!

The sky-elf lands on the ledge, and then pushes off, jumping at Ciri and Flygon.  Flygon takes off out of the sky-elf’s trajectory, leaving the Sky-Elf to slash at empty air.

Ciri: Dragonbreath!

Flygon inhales sharply and shoots a powerful blast of breath at the sky-elf.  The sky-elf in turn dodges, slashing Flygon with his dagger, causing Flygon to flinch smacking the sky-elf hard with it’s tail.  Ciri’s hands start to glow as Flygon strikes the sky-elf with a dragonbreath before he (the sky-elf) can even react.  This is followed by a magical strike from Ciri.

This doesn’t dissuade the sky-elf from rushing the two of them, a dagger in each hand.  His first stab misses, and Ciri grasps his arm, simultaneously burning the sky-elf with magic where she is holding him.  The sky-elf then attempts to stab Ciri in the side of the head, forcing Ciri to leap into the air off of Flygon’s back, leaving the sun right in the sky-elf’s eyes.

Ciri takes advantage of this delivering a powerful kick to the sky-elf’s face, which causes him to drop his daggers, while Ciri simultaneously grabs on to his back.  Now relieved of Ciri’s weight, Flygon zips easily out of the way of the sky-elf’s punch as Ciri wraps her arm around the sky-elf’s neck and starts muttering something.

In an attempt to get rid of Ciri, the sky-elf teleports a few meters back and upwards, but Ciri teleports with him.  The sky-elf now grabs Ciri’s arm (that’s wrapped around his neck) to stop her from choking him, but Ciri proves stronger than he expects, and he teleports left (away from the tree) to get rid of Ciri, but she still teleports with him.  The sky-elf then teleports right, but Ciri still teleports with him.  This is followed by another teleport, where he finally does manage to free himself of Ciri, who is left in free-fall.

The sky-elf has about a half-second to rejoice as suddenly he is yanked through the air after Ciri as if by invisible threads.  They fall past two rings of branches before the sky-elf crashes into the side of a branch, and then crashes into a lower branch of the tree, where he struggles to get up as if something other than gravity is pulling him down.

This has also broken Ciri’s fall, but in a different way.  Ciri hangs below the branch holding onto literally nothing with a glowing yellow fist.

Ciri: Flygon!

Flygon: Caw!

Sky-Elf: Zark!

Still struggling to get up under this new force, Flygon picks up Ciri and flies out from under the branch, which at the same time drags the sky-elf along the branch after her.  Zipping out into the air again after dragging him along the rocky ground, and into the sky again.

Undeterred, the sky-elf charges forward and Ciri throws a water strike at him, while this deals damage, it doesn’t stop the sky-elf from hitting her full-on and nearly knocking her off of Flygon.  Ciri counters with a magically-charged punch which knocks the sky-elf back a ways (as Flygon puts more distance between them anyway); the sky-elf zooms at Ciri again, but Ciri holds out both her hands, and with a faint white light, catches the sky-elf with magic (not actually touching him) as appears to hold him in midair as he struggles to break out of the magic, doing so after about five seconds (real time) of treading air.

Sky-Elf: My suspicions…  Everything…  Now the time I finally put it together!  I have to see this for myself!

Suddenly, something comes hurdling out of the sky, only to be identifiable as Satolite (no longer carrying Ash) as it collides with the sky-elf, with force great enough to knock the sky-elf off his course and sending him crashing into a lower branch of the tree, which threatens to break off as a large plume of dust erupts from the crater the sky-elf made.

Sky-Elf: I had to see it for myself…

With this, spirals appear on the sky-elf’s eyes, signaling his loss of consciousness.

New Scene()

On a branch of the Tree of the World’s Beginning full of toys, Mew is watching Pikachu.  Pikachu is also watching Mew intently.  Suddenly, Mew cries out and flies off, not changing form.

Pikachu: Pika pika!

Mew continues to fly away, ignoring Pikachu.

Pikachu: Pika…

Clearly upset and nervous, Pikachu picks up a toy car and examines it.

Revert Scene()

Satolite and Flygon let Ash and Ciri down on the branch with the sky-elf lying on it, unconscious.

Ash: Man…

Ciri bends down to check the sky-elf’s pulse.

Ciri: He definitely knows something about the mew aqua; it appears that he was sent to collect it by someone.

Ash: Is he…

Ciri: He’s alive–just out cold.

Ash: Did he tell you anything else?

Ciri shakes her head.

Ciri: We should leave him here, he’ll wake up eventually.

Ash: And when he does?

Ciri: He won’t be nearly as dangerous without those daggers.  But it burns me up.  I didn’t get a chance to ask him if he was working with my friend or against her.

Ciri stands up and pats Flygon on the head.  Flygon whines slightly, as Ciri eyes the slash-mark done to Flygon by the sky-elf.

New Scene()

Benjy, May, Max, and Qliqli are walking through the Tree of the World’s Beginning

May: So how are we supposed to find this mew aqua stuff if we don’t even know what we’re looking for?

Qliqli: Qliqli!

Max: I think that’s your answer, May.

Benjy: Qliqli, do you…

Before Benjy can finish, Qliqli zips off into the tree, and Benjy, May, and Max rush after it, back into the room with the lake.  Qliqli goes zipping off over the water, investigating things.  Max walks up to the lake’s shore and touches the water, as he does, an Omanyte approaches his had and touches his fingers with it’s tentacles.  Both immediately recoil as Benjy watches, and May keeps an eye on Qliqli who is busily looking for something.

Some glowing fungus catches Benjy’s attention by the edge of the shore, and Benjy goes over to investigate.

May: I think Qliqli found something!

Qliqli, who had been staring at a section of the rock, shakes itself…

May: Never-mind, I guess not.  Oh!

May looks down to see a pair of Nidoran (one male, one female) at her feet, looking up at her curiously.  QST.camera now shifts to where Benjy, who is checking out the fungus.  He feels something tugging on his shirt, and turns around to where he is shocked to see a Cradily tugging on his shirt.  Benjy almost falls in the water as he jumps to his feet.  Cradily promptly sticks it’s head closer to Benjy, sniffing him repeatedly.

Benjy: Ehh…

Cradily: Cray?

Yami Benjy: Benjy, you should catch it.

Benjy: But it could have a butterfly effect!

Cradily continues sniffing Benjy, while May and Max rush over to see it, May taking pictures with a make-believe camera.

Yami Benjy: That’s unlikely, given the size of the Tree of the World’s Beginning.

Benjy backs away from Cradily as it slowly inches towards him.

Benjy: I guess…

Benjy takes out a poké ball, and as Cradily inches closer, touches the poké ball to Cradily.  The result is that Cradily glows with a pink light for a split-second, but doesn’t disappear inside the ball, much to everyone’s surprise.  The Cradily looks around wildly, trying to determine where the strange sensation came from.

May: Benjy?!  Are you sure you should be doing that?!

Cradily is now sniffing around wildly, and finally identifies the poké ball as the source.  It bumps the button with it’s nose, and the light appears again, but Cradily doesn’t disappear.  Cradily does this again, and once again the same result.  Benjy turns back to May.

Benjy: We’re supposed to be looking for mew aqua, so I figured this would be a good place to start–ah.

Cradily has snatched the poké ball from Benjy’s hand, and takes it to the edge of the shore (near the tree, not the lake) to inspect it.  Benjy wipes the Cradily slobber from his hand onto the grass.  This is followed by the sound of Cradily trying to chew on the poké ball.

Benjy: That’s not food!

Benjy rushes to retrieve the poké ball from Cradily, but the grass pokémon suddenly appears defensive, so Benjy backs up and lets Cradily play with the poké ball.

Qliqli: Qli!  Qlii!

May: You found something, Qliqli?

Qliqli nods slightly, then zips over the shore as if to get May and Max to follow it.  Both do, and Benjy follows them, as Qliqli leads them across rocks to get from the shore to what looks like an island, but turns out to be connected slightly to the shore, in the middle of the lake.  May and Max immediately start to look in the island’s bushes; and Max uncovers an Anorith eating a root.  Meanwhile, Yami Benjy turns his attention back to Cradily whom still on the shore is gnawing on the poké ball.

Qliqli chirps, and starts to fly along the path to the shore, again prompting May and Max to follow.  Instead, Benjy is the only one who follows Qliqli, which forces them to wait to wait by a tunnel into the wall until May and Max have finished what they’re doing and are able to catch up.

Qliqli: Qliqli!

Benjy nods, and starts to enter the tunnel, followed by Qliqli, and then Max, then May.

Max: Do you really think it can sense it?

Benjy shrugs.

Benjy: He’s obviously looking for something.

Qliqli moves slightly, as Benjy refers to it as a ‘he’.

Benjy: I’m sorry, are you a boy or a girl?

Qliqli: Qli?

Max: I don’t think Qliqli has a concept of male and female.

Qliqli: Qliqli!

Benjy: Ah.  Okay then.

Qliqli zips ahead of Benjy, and now proceeds to continue to lead them up the tunnel.  As they climb, May stumbles twice before they get to a largish junction at the top of the tunnel, where the tunnel widens out to be about five six wide as opposed to the tunnel they just came through, which was only about 30 inches wide.  Given the choice of whether to go right or left, Qliqli beeps and ensures that the three go to the left, through a tunnel that’s about four feet wide and five feet high.  As the group walks behind it, Qliqli pulses with energy.

May: Has it found something?

Max: That was quick.

Benjy: This place is probably overflowing with mew aqua, it just took Qliqli a little while to determine what it is.  Right Qliqli?

Qliqli doesn’t respond verbally, but instead zips off into the distance.  May and Max push past Benjy to run after it, and Benjy then takes after them.

May, Max, and Benjy run out of the tunnel (not far) after Qliqli, onto a large ledge above the lake.  On their left side, down below is the lake, and in the distance the tunnel with which they initially came in.  On their left, Qliqli hovers above a large area covered in grass abut three feet high, roughly 70 feet wide by 40 feet long that slopes gradually downwards away from the path.  Towards the edge of this area, there are some large gray rocks, about six to seven feet high.  Qliqli hovers above this area.

May: You found some, Qliqli?

Qliqli says nothing.

May: Hey…  Qliqli.

Qliqli shivers slightly, and May starts to walk toward the area that it’s hovering over, concerned.  In the distance, the grass rustles slightly.

Qliqli: Qluuuu…

Qliqli lands on May’s head as Max approaches May’s side, Benjy right behind him.  QST.camera turns and focuses on their faces as all start obtain an expression that resembles a mixture of disgust, shock and confusion.

New Scene()

Ash stands watching over the unconscious sky-elf while Ciri bandages Flygon.  Flygon seems to be more comfortable with the bandages, letting out a soft cry as Ciri applies them.  Ciri then glances at Ash nervously.

Ash: Sorry…

Ciri: ?

Ash: Satolite didn’t want to leave you alone.

Satolite isn’t paying attention to Ash’s comment and is instead perched on a large rock staring off into the tree’s branches.

Ciri: Don’t worry about it.  I take it you still haven’t found Pikachu?

Ash: How could I have when I we had to–

Ash cuts himself off seeing that Ciri is shivering.

Ash: Hey Ciri, you okay?

Flygon is also shivering now.

Ciri: It just got cold all of a sudden…

Ash stares at the sky-elf, curiously.

Ash: Think this is his doing?

Ciri: It might be some kind of reaction with the mew aqua, whatever that is.  But he’s out cold.

Ciri jumps as Flygon lets out a loud squawk, as something strikes it from the backside knocking it unconscious.

Ciri: Flygon!

Ciri quickly bends down to recall Flygon back into it’s ball.  As strange mechanical sound now reverberates, as if gas is being released from somewhere, and Ciri quickly stands up to look for where the sound is coming from.  Ash starts to reach for a poké ball, but Ciri stops him, quickly scanning the branches for whatever attacked them.  QST.camera synchronizes with Ciri’s vision until a moment after Ciri spots a large white object on a branch above their own.

Ciri: There… (whisper)

Ash quickly pulls out his pokédex and points it at the creature.

Ash’s Pokédex: Regice, the iceberg pokémon.  It cloaks itself with frigid air of -328 degrees Fahrenheit.  Objects will freeze solid just by going near this pokémon.

Following this, Ciri slams Ash aside as Regice shoots another ice beam directly at them.  Due to Ciri’s actions the beam misses both of them, and crashes into the branch of the tree with a massive explosion.  Ash and Ciri quickly jump to their feet, and move backwards to avoid another icy blast (not an ice beam) that shakes the entire branch, threatening to destroy it, forcing Ash and Ciri to jump behind the rock that Satolite was perched on.

This is followed by another explosion and both Ash and Ciri shiver from the breeze caused by the impact.  Satolite doesn’t appear to mind the cold as much.

Satolite: Ch…

Ciri: Regice…  Ice type…  (whisper)

Another explosion is enough to knocks the sky-elf off the branch, and seeing this Ash and Ciri gasp as they stare at him fall.  But moving too fast to be seen, Satolite snatches the unconscious sky-elf out of the air.

Regice: Zhuu-zhu.

Ciri: It found us!

Ciri quickly grabs an apricorn poké ball from her belt.

Ciri: Zumi!

Quick-Refresh Scene()

Ciri darts out from behind the rock with Zumi at her feet.

Ciri: Brick break!

Like a rocket, Zumi darts at Regice.  Regice counter this by attacking Zumi with a thunderbolt.  This attack is sufficient at stopping brick break, and dealing massive damage to Zumi, knocking Zumi backwards to where Ciri is standing.

Ciri: It’s got bolt-beam!

Seeing that Ciri’s attack failed, Ash prepares to fight Regice.

Ash: Go, Cro–

Ciri: Wait Ash!  It’s got thu–

Ciri is cut off as she is struck in the backside with a massive electric beam and completely electrified.  Halfway through this 2-second attack, Ciri starts to scream, and continues to scream an extremely shrill scream for the remaining second before she crashes to the ground, leaving Ash aghast.

Ash: Croconaw!  Metal claw!

Croconaw leaps from it’s ball to attack Regice, which counters again with thunderbolt, knocking out Croconaw in a single hit.  At the same time, Ciri snaps her fingers where she is lying on the ground, creating a magic shield around herself, Ash, and Zumi.  Regice starts to approach Croconaw and Ash quickly recalls it before Regice can reach it.

This appears to irk Regice, prompting it to charge a massive icy cannon-type attack, freezing the air around it, while Ash grabs for another poké ball.  As he does, ripples in the air appear around Ciri.

New Scene()

QST.camera has zoomed out to the extent where several branches can all be seen.  Regice blasts a gigantic icy beam through where Ash and Ciri were fighting it, shooting across the branch into the air and striking a different branch, freezing it and encasing the vast majority of it in ice.

New Scene()

The ripples appear on another branch higher in the tree, and the sky-elf appears from them, holding Ash and Ciri, and places them on the branch, panting and also injured.  In the sky nearby, Satolite carries Zumi, easily dodging Regice’s attacks.

On the branch, the sky-elf and Ciri collapse, while Ash jumps to his feet.

Ash: Huh, what–

Ciri moans as she lies on he ground, the back of her shirt burned through from where Regice caught her by surprise, and her back burned as well.  The sky-elf is holding his head as he pulls himself into a sitting position.  Ash now looks around wildly.

Ash: What happened to Azumarill and Satolite?!

The sky-elf points using the hand that he’s not holding his head with, to show where Satolite and Zumi are in the sky.  Ash breathes a sigh of relief.

Ash: Thanks…

Still holding his head, the sky-elf gets to his feet.

Ciri: Why did you…?

Sky-Elf: We’re even now.

Ciri: Man, what a Tsundere thing to say.

New Scene()

Narrator: Meanwhile, our allies have made a monumental discovery.

Benjy, May, and Max are walking through the Tree of the World’s Beginning.  May is helping Benjy who is looking sick to his stomach.  May and Max’s faces are mostly drained of color.

May: So Qliqli was just looking for Kidd…

Max: Benjy?

Benjy is staring down at the ground, jittery.

May: But you have no idea what they–

Benjy: Nope.

Max: Sheesh, I told you to look away.

Benjy: When I said I couldn’t, I really meant I couldn’t

Max walks a few steps behind Benjy and May, and a few steps to the side.  Max puts his hands behind his head.

Max: Ya really couldn’t, huh?

QST.camera goes into slow motion and zooms in on Max as he takes a step, and without realizing it, steps on a time-flower.  The time-flower suddenly glows as Max steps off of it.  Max catches this light in the corner of his eye and turns around.  May sees him turns around, and also turns around, causing Benjy to almost fall over.  Benjy turns around and he, May, and Max stare at the time flower as it shines brightly and starts projecting.

Mysterious Voice1: It’s worse than we ever imagined, Lieutenant Mary Anna…

QST.camera goes into split-screen on Benjy, May, and Max, as they stare dumbfounded at the time-flower.

Mysterious Voice2: What did you discover?

QST.camera comes out of the split-screen and Max quickly runs over and props the time flower upright.  Suddenly holograms of two people wearing green robes are projected into the passageway.  These projections are glitchy, with errors corresponding to where Max stepped on the time-flower.  The mysterious voices are now revealed to belong to people, the first belonging to a man and the second belonging to a woman.  A third man is standing behind the woman.

Man: This thing is incredibly volatile, it’s like we’re standing inside a giant anima bomb.

Mary Anna: So that’s why–

Man: I believe that’s the reason for the ridiculously high concentration.

Mary Anna: But can we use it to–

Man: The mancers are upstairs, trying to figure out how if there’s anyway to deal with ~bzzt~.

The holograms crackle with static, while Benjy, May, and Max watch intently.

Man: The chance that we can convert it to power like we originally intended without ~bzzt~ are minimal at best.

Benjy now falls over, shaking violently and looking even sicker.

May: Benjy…

Max: Shsh…

Suddenly the projections are filled with static, and it becomes hard to hear what the people are saying.  This lasts for about four seconds before the next line is heard.

Man: We think it’s designed to ~bzzzzzzt~.

May and Max look at each other nervously.  Mary Anna also starts to look sick.

Mary Anna: If this thing explodes, it’ll send the ~bzzzzzzzt~ into the jetstream.  This much could easily wipe out all life on this planet.

The time flower now falls over and wilts, it’s projection finished.  May and Max stare at where the projection was, and then look to Benjy, who is lying on the ground, looking even sicker.

May: Benjy!

With a flash of brilliant light, the millennium gameboy advance activates.  Yami Benjy slowly gets to his feet.

Yami Benjy: I’ll bet that’s what mew aqua is.  It’s another word for heavily condensed anima.

May: What makes you say that?

Yami Benjy: It’s just a hunch.  However, I think we’re safe for now.

May: Why?

Yami Benjy: It’s stood for four hundred years without exploding.  Unless that sky-elf is up to something, it’s unlikely to explode now…

Narrator: And with this revelation, the gauntlet has been thrown!  The countdown to the beginning will now begin!
