Narrator: Previously on Trigamon, our allies made it out of the caves to find that the hot springs are overflowing.
Ash and company with Scooby and Shaggy emerge from the caves in a field below the hot springs, which is now flooded. Scooby and Shaggy immediately try to kiss the ground, but realize that it’s all wet. Max points at the hot springs, and everyone turns to see what he’s pointing at. QST.camera shifts as well to where the hot springs are overflowing, dumping water to the field below.
Yami Benjy: But that’s not possible!
Ash and company, plus Scooby and Shaggy all turn to face a Team Aqua Grunt, approaching them quickly from the direction opposite the hot springs.
Narrator: Team Aqua was up to something, but there was no telling what it was.

Narrator: After realizing that Scooby and Shaggy’s friends hadn’t returned from their hike, Ash, May, Max, Benjy, and Scooby Doo, quickly mobilized to investigate.
Scooby whines that he isn’t able to sniff the trail, but Benjy quickly points out that there’s only one direction that anyone could have gone. Scooby quickly sees the logic in this, and becomes content to trot alongside the rest of Rescue Team. Ahead of Rescue Team the trail zig-zags again through a field, and Rescue Team quickly follows it.

In the forest, Rescue Team stands against the Team Aqua grunts.
Narrator: On their way, they fought Team Aqua at every turn.

Narrator: Including a decisive battle with Team Aqua Administrator Matthew Rickson, known more commonly as "Matt."
Matt takes about two steps forwards after this, then suddenly both Celebi and Jirachi glow. At once, both pokémon launch some kind of psychic attack at Matt, blowing up the ground around him (Matt) and sending him flying backwards while the pole flies forwards out of his hands forwards, sailing over the heads of Rescue Team, excluding Ash and landing somewhere in the forest.

Narrator: And once the rescue was completed, they discovered:
Velma is now scanning the machine that takes up over 90% of the warehouse wall, the others present gather around her and the machine, leaving her enough room to move around.
Fred: Team Aqua is planning to pump water all throughout Mount Chimney.
Max: Um, why?
Daphne: They claim it’s going to push all the lava out, and turn it into a habitat for water pokémon.

Benjy: It’s not going to erupt. It’s going to explode.

Smoke billows into the air from where the blast hit.
Fred: I say we use it as a smokescreen and run for cover.
Benjy: As I was saying–
May: Lets go!
Ash, May, Benjy, Fred, Velma, and Daphne all run inside the warehouse to find Scooby already inside the warehouse, shaking.
Scooby: Ruh know. I ristened to Renjy’s directions ruh rirst rime.
Daphne: Oh, shut up.
Velma: No you shut up!
Fred: Stop this! We can’t afford to fight amongst ourselves.
Scooby, Daphne, Velma, and Fred all stare at each other angrily.
Ash: Stop this. Benjy. What are your two plans?
Benjy swallows hard.
Benjy: Plan B is to use Celebi’s time-traveling ability, to give us more time if nothing else.
Fred: Well I can’t say I find the thought of time-travel appealing.
May: What’s plan C? (whisper)
Benjy: It’s a little more drastic. It’s the spell Morning’s End. (whisper)
May: Was that yours or the…? (whisper)
Benjy: His, but one of us could try to use it. (whisper)
May shivers from head to toe, and QST.camera shifts to where the dust is clearing, and Team Magma and Team Aqua are becoming visible through the hole in the building where the door was ripped off.
Velma: Think they’ll notice us? (whisper)
Benjy: Depends on how busy they are bashing each other’s brains out. (whisper)
Ash: I say we get out of here before they notice us. (whisper)
Fred: That’s not going to matter though if Mount Chimney explodes. We need to shut off that machine!
Velma: That’s not possible from here. There’s no off switch!
Fred: So we’ll make one.
A chill appears to run down Benjy’s spine in response to Fred’s words.
Daphne: And how do you want to do that?
Fred: We’ll destroy it.
Benjy: But that won’t do any good if it’s just a dummy terminal…
Fred: I doubt that. Shelly started the process from here, so it’s highly unlikely.
Velma: Then how do you suppose we make one?
Fred takes a couple steps forwards towards the terminal.
Fred: Like this!
Fred makes a fist, and suddenly punches the terminal with as much force as he can muster. This does absolutely nothing to the terminal, but Fred’s face distorts with pain.
Fred: What the…
Velma: Team Aqua’s a rowdy bunch, so it doesn’t surprise me that you couldn’t phase it.
Fred: Ow… (bleep)!
Benjy now scans the terminal carefully.
Benjy: Even if it’s a dummy, it’s still probably connected to the mainframe. Ash–
Ash: Yeah?
Benjy: Have Pikachu hit it with a small charge. Just enough to fry it, or trigger the emergency shutoff if there is one. But don’t make anything explode…
Ash nods.
Ash: Hear that Pikachu?
Pikachu nods, then his (Pikachu’s) cheeks spark.
Pikachu: Pikachu pika–pikachu!
Pikachu sparks, and suddenly discharges a stream of electricity into the machine, but this doesn’t seem to do anything. Ash has Pikachu turn up the voltage, although this seems to make Benjy uncomfortable.
Velma: Stop it. It’s probably grounded.
Suddenly a voice can be heard from outside.
Girl’s Voice1: Hey, there’s someone in there!
Girl’s Voice2: There is…
Girl’s Voice3: Hey!
Ash, May, Benjy, Daphne, Velma, and Fred turn to see five identical Team Aqua grunts enter the warehouse.
Scooby: Roh no!
Team Aqua Grunt4: The prisoners escaped!
Team Aqua Grunt5: We’ll have to re-capture them.
All five identical grunts simultaneously nod.

Team Aqua GruntN tosses a poké ball, and their Poochyena (PoochyenaN) appears in front of them, growling at the group.

Without waiting for instruction, Benjy’s Celebi attacks all five Poochyena with psychic, however the attack goes right through the Poochyena, and Celebi zips over to Benjy and clings onto the back of his neck.
Team Aqua Grunt3: Let’s go!

PoochyenaN leaps in the air as it prepares a tackle towards Ash and Benjy.

Ash: Pikachu, thunder!
Pikachu sparks, then suddenly uses thunder, zapping all five Poochyena, and knocking them into their trainers, who are also zapped by the attack. All five grunts fall down, sizzling with electricity.
Narrator: And now, just for kicks…
The ground around the Team Aqua grunts crackles with electricity, and the ground around them (including the wall) explodes in a small blast of energy, kicking up a cloud of dust and debris that obscures the grunts for a half-second (real time) before quickly clearing, leaving the grunts and their Poochyena sprawled out on the floor, their uniforms burned through it places.
Narrator: And what do you know? Instant fan-service!
Team Aqua Grunt4: Waah! Matt–huh?…
The Team Aqua Grunt stops talking as a deafening explosion resonates from outside the warehouse, which is followed by shouting, and then more yelling and screaming.
Fred: Tell us! How do you shut off that machine?!
The grunts look at Fred, confused.
Team Aqua Grunt2: I don’t understand. Why would you want to shut it off?
Velma: Because if we don’t this mountain that we’re on is going to explode, killing all of us!
QST.camera scans the five grunts, who stare in disbelief at Velma.
Team Aqua Grunt5: That’s not possible! It’s just going to push the lava out!
Velma shakes her head.
Velma: You see…
Fred: We don’t have time to explain it, just trust us!
Benjy: Lava is heavier than water, so the lava isn’t going anywhere. Meanwhile, the water’s going to boil because the lava is hot. When water boils, it expands.
Fred: Benjy!
Velma: Fred!
Benjy: That expanding water is going to blow the mountain to pieces.
Fred: I said–
Velma: The chance of them taking you at your word is zero.
Team Aqua Grunt1: That’s impossible though…
Fred: We don’t have time! Once it starts to happen it will be too late!
Velma: Which is why we have to explain it to them now!
Benjy: It’s not impossible.
Ash: It’s like in Cinnabar, when Team Rocket tried to freeze the entire inside of the volcano. It nearly caused it to erupt.
Benjy: So long story short, that’s why we have to shut it off. Or there won’t be a Mount Chimney.
Suddenly, another (male) Team Aqua grunt comes running into the room, shouting at the five female grunts, demanding to know what they are doing. One of the female grunts relays the information about the impending explosion to the male grunt, who dismisses it off-hand.
Male Grunt: Are leader’s plan is flawless. You get back into the cage.
Benjy shakes his head.
Male Grunt: Or do you want me to make you?
Benjy: To bad for you, I don’t feel like dying today. (angry)
Male Grunt: Then get into the cage! (angry)
May gasps.
Benjy: Nope. (defiant)
The grunt takes out a poké ball, staring at Benjy nervously.
Male Grunt: Z-zubat!
The grunt throws a ball, and a Zubat emerges.
Male Grunt: I’m serious!
Benjy: Is that the best you got?
Scooby: Rime scared…
Velma: Don’t be, I think he knows what he’s doing. (Velma is referring to Benjy)
As if in response, the five female Team Aqua grunts all assemble behind their colleague, in poses similar to their poses in Pokémon Alpha Sapphire™.
Male Grunt: Zubat! Poison sting!
Benjy: Celebi! Psychic!
Poison stings strike Benjy, Celebi, Scooby, May, and Velma in the split-second before Celebi’s attack, but the timetravel pokémon retaliates with a powerful blast of psychic energy, which takes out Zubat in a single hit. The attack also slams all six Team Aqua Grunts into the floor, where they lie stunned.
Benjy: So how…
Benjy breathes heavily.
Benjy: …do you shut that thing off!
Daphne: I don’t think they’re going to tell.
The grunts don’t say anything, but glare at Benjy malevolently. Benjy steps back shakily.
Benjy: Ash… Have Pikachu fry it. Just in case it *does* make a difference.
Ash nods, and instructs Pikachu to do as Benjy requested it do.
Pikachu sparks, then shoots a powerful electric charge into the machine. The machine sparks slightly, and then the display goes blank.
Fred: I thought we determined it was just a dummy terminal!
Benjy: Just in case we’re wrong. Now lets get out of here while we can.
Defines: new Term(Rescue Group) as { Ash, May, Benjy, Scooby, Velma, Daphne, Fred }
Following Benjy’s instructions, Rescue group darts out of the warehouse explosions and battle-cries echo from in front of the warehouse, where Team Magma has pushed Team Aqua’s forces backwards (towards the warehouse). As Rescue Group runs out, Team Aqua members try to grab them, but are only successful in grabbing Benjy due to his injured state. As Benjy struggles to escape, the grunt holding him starts to kick him, but Fred belt’s this grunt upside the head with enough force to cause him to let go and to fall down. Two Team Aqua Grunts quickly block Fred.
Pikachu: Pi-CHUU!
Suddenly hit by an electric attack, the two grunts fall to the ground, allowing Fred to quickly pull Benjy past them over to where Ash, Pikachu, and Celebi are waiting. Fred lets go of Benjy as they all turn to flee, Celebi knocking another Team Aqua grunt down with psychic.
QST.camera maintains the scene as Rescue Group rushes behind the warehouse and several Team Aqua grunts. Benjy nearly trips twice during this time, the second time as Rescue Group emerges from behind the warehouse on the other (west) side, and the path starts sloping downwards. QST.camera now shifts back to show a total of three Team Aqua grunts in hot pursuit of them. This lasts only one second (real time) before QST.camera shifts back to Rescue Group.
Scooby: Ruh-roh! Rey’re rafter rus!
Daphne: No (bleep) Scooby!
As Rescue Group runs down the slope, Benjy trips and almost falls face-first on the ground, but catches himself on the palms of his hands, panting.
May: Benjy!
Benjy quickly gets back to his feet, but by now the Team Aqua grunts have almost caught up to him. May looks around wildly.
May: Celebi!
Celebi: Bi!
May points at the grunts.
May: Psychic!
One of the grunts reaches for Benjy, but he’s suddenly thrown backwards by Celebi’s psychic, landing on his back on the rock. Velma now has reached Benjy, and pulls him along with May and Celebi right behind them.
New Scene()
Rescue group walks along a rocky path about five feet wide. Up above on their right side is a rocky ledge, while the left side has a drop-off to another path about thirty feet below. May is helping Benjy to walk, as Benjy’s scrapes are severe enough that he’s limping.
Fred: We’ve got to find a way back to Lavaridge.
Daphne: And fast.
Ash: Benjy, what’s the next plan of action?
Benjy appears to shiver.
Benjy: It’s what he said; to get back. With any luck those star guard guys are still around.
Velma: That’s unlikely. They don’t stay in one place very long unless it’s extenuating circumstances.
May: What are we going to do when we get back though? I thought…
Benjy: Aid in the evacuation? I don’t know. If we’re lucky it won’t all explode at once.
Benjy suddenly stops walking.
Benjy: I’m dreaming, aren’t I?
This comment draws concern from both Velma and May.
May: Benjy…
Benjy mutters the word "dreaming" again, and then starts to collapse, forcing May to sit Benjy down against the cliff. Celebi lands on May’s shoulder.
Celebi: Tikka-tikka.
Scooby: Roh-noh! Rat ris rate, re ron’t rake it rack untril refore ruh rountain rows!
May: Celebi, I want you to take us all back in time at the first sign of…
Celebi pinches May on her cheek, cutting May off.
Velma: I think Celebi’s just as worn out as her trainer.
Celebi nods slowly.
Ash: Well Pikachu and I have plenty of energy.
Pikachu, riding on Ash’s shoulder, produces some small sparks from it’s cheeks.
Daphne: Well that’s going to come in handy, cause we’ve got company.
Daphne gestures over a turn in the path, to where a Team Magma party is below them on the dirt trail with bushes nearby.
Fred: Well good thing their down there and we’re up here.
Narrator: And wait for it…
Magma_Grunt(offscreen): Mike! There’s someone on the ledge above us!
Velma: (bleep)! We’ve been noticed! (whisper)
(Magma Admin) Mike: It’s probably another Aqua patrol. Get ready, Luna.
(Magma Grunt) Luna: Aye sir!
Magma_Grunt(offscreen): Hey you! Identify yourselves!
Scooby starts to fret.
Velma: We’re not Team Aqua! (shout)
Fred: Quiet, Velma! They’ll hear you! (whisper)
Velma: We have no business with you!
Mike: You say you’re not Team Aqua. Come to the edge so we can see your uniforms.
Ash and May start to follow this direction. But Velma puts out her hand to stop them.
Velma: It’s a trick. (whisper)
Ash: But how?
Suddenly, the ground collapses under Rescue Group (except Benjy) and causes everyone to come tumbling down the slope with the outermost two feet of the path. Benjy doesn’t move, but stares off into space, as if he’s been stunned. QST.camera now shifts down the slope to show where the other members of Rescue Group have crashed into the bushes at the bottom of the slope. Facing them are three Team Magma Grunts and Mike, who is the only one not wearing his Team Magma hood. A Camerupt stands by one of the female members of Team Magma.
Pikachu sparks as Ash extracts himself from the bushes. The Magma grunt standing next to the Camerupt (The grunt’s name is Luna) now speaks up.
Luna: They don’t look like Team Aqua…
Mike: Careful.
Four Poochyena now emerge from the bushes, and walk up to Rescue group, growling.
Luna: Hey–easy guys.
Pikachu sparks a warning.
Mike: So what are you guys doing here?
Ash quickly explains that they’re going back to Lavaridge after rescuing their friends, and quickly discovers that Benjy’s left on the ledge above.
Ash: What are you doing here?
Mike: Team Aqua patrols that ledge, lets just leave it at that.
Ash: Benjy!
Luna: Quiet!
Magma_Grunt1: It’s all good. He’ll act as bait.
Mike nods slowly, then QST.camera goes into split-screen on the rest of Rescue Group, then shifts to Benjy who is staring down at everyone from the ledge above.
Benjy: Son of a… How am I supposed to get down there.
Benjy looks down at the MGBA, which is powered off. Benjy then looks up over the mountain.
Benjy: Sometimes I wonder. What if this is all a dream and I have to die to wake up?
Benjy hesitates.
Benjy: I’ve wondered that on Earth too. However…
Benjy turns slightly upon hearing faint footsteps.
Benjy: That’s a risk I’m never going to take.
Background::Mike’s Voice: We’ll keep your friend safe, if possible.
Benjy turns to see a group of four Team Aqua grunts approaching.
Luna: Volley!
Suddenly, Camerupt uses eruption, spewing hot lava towards the Team Aqua grunts, and the other two male grunts send out Golbat and have them screech at the Team Aqua patrol. All four grunts leap aside to avoid the magma, with one falling off the edge of the trail into the bushes and trees protruding from the steep cliff. One of the grunts at the end of the group turns tail, while the other two call on a pair of Golbats and have them use screech back at Team Magma, instantly creating a terrible din. All of Rescue Group covers their ears.
Although her voice is drowned out by the din of screeches, Luna tells Camerupt to use flamethrower on the Team Aqua Golbats, who dodge the attack, and the screeching continues. Now while Benjy covers his ears, one of the Team Aqua grunts walks up to him, and pokes at Benjy’s knee with his (the grunt’s) foot, where Benjy is sitting cross-legged on the ground.
Aqua Grunt: Hey!
At this time, QST.camera synchronizes with Benjy’s field of vision. Benjy doesn’t appear to have heard the grunt, who now attempts to put his hand on Benjy’s chin to reposition Benjy’s head to be facing him. Benjy doesn’t let him, and swats his hand away. The grunt mouths something at Benjy.
Benjy: I can’t lip-read.
The grunt mouths something back at Benjy, gesturing angrily.
Benjy: I CAN’T LIP READ!
Benjy’s voice is barely heard above the screeching Golbats, and the Team Aqua grunt grabs Benjy by the front of the shirt and drags Benjy to his feet before he can react, at which point Benjy swats the grunt’s hand away again. The grunt grabs Benjy by the wrist, and Benjy forces him away again. The grunt responds with a punch, which Benjy blocks, and then the grunt lands a blow on Benjy’s shoulder. Benjy responds instantly by pushing off of the rock behind him, shoving the grunt over the edge of the path, and accidentally falling over the edge of the path himself. Neither have time to react as they both fall, and land hard on the stone below seconds later. The Team Aqua grunt hits the back of his head and immediately gets knocked out cold, while Benjy seems a little better, but is still pretty badly jarred from the fall. QST.camera now de-synchronizes with Benjy’s field of vision as Ash and May rush to see to his injuries.
May: Benjy! (panicked)
Benjy slowly climbs off the grunt, shaking, then flinches as a louder screech reverberates off of the surrounding environment. After another of these ultra-loud screeches Benjy faints has to lie down on the ground, feeling nauseous. QST.camera now shifts upward to Shelly riding her Crobat which is flying towards them. Shelly is standing on top of Crobat’s main body, holding a megaphone in front of it’s mouth. Shelly now moves the megaphone in front of her own mouth.
Shelly: This will show you, Team Magma buffoons!
Luna: That last one must have sent out a distress c–
Luna is cut off as Shelly shouts into the megaphone:
Shelly: Crobat, sludge bomb!
Crobat hurls sludge towards Rescue Group and Team Magma. Although he can’t be heard, Ash instructs Pikachu with hand-gestures counter-attack with thunderbolt. Pikachu, shoots a thunderbolt into the sludge as it starts to rain down on everyone, causing an explosion, and sending the sludge everywhere. The sludge that gets through lands on the ground and starts to corrode it. Shelly now jumps off Crobat and shouts into the megaphone again for it to use a rapid-fire sludge bomb. Crobat immediately shoots three sludge bombs, and Ash has Pikachu use thunder, once again instructing with hand gestures.
Before anyone is fully aware of what’s going on, the attacks collide spraying sludge up into the air. QST.camera synchronizes with Benjy’s vision as he looks up to see sludge falling towards them. Before the sludge can hit them, it splatters on the top of an invisible dome that has inexplicably formed around Rescue Group and Team Magma. At the same time, the Golbat stop screeching.
QST.camera desynchronizes with Benjy’s vision and shifts to them, to reveal that all four Golbat (and Shelly’s Crobat) have ribbons wrapped around their heads, holding their moths shut.
Mike: What the–
Fred: I can hear myself think again!
Benjy begins to pull himself into a sitting position, in the center of the invisible dome stands Julianna, holding a long staff in her hand.
Julianna: Silence is golden.
Luna: Who are you?!
Julianna turns to Luna abruptly and suddenly a band of tape wraps around Luna’s head.
Julianna: Duct tape is silver.
Julianna now turns her attention to Team Aqua, who are still attacking the dome. Mike silently gets out his keychain and cuts the duct tape, allowing Luna to peel it off of her head. Julianna snaps her fingers and two girls, about eleven or twelve and wearing the same kind of frilly dresses, appear at her side.
Girls: Yes Queen Julianna?
Julianna: You two figure out what the (bleep) is wrong with these people.
Girl_in_Red: Queen Julianna, you’re always so kind!
Julianna suddenly turns bright red, and then bonks the girl in red on the head with her staff.
Julianna: I’m not doing it for them, moron! Now go!
Julianna snaps her fingers, and suddenly both girls snap their fingers, causing both Rescue Group and Team Magma to be teleported away, along with both magical mushroom girls. Julianna snaps her fingers again and the barrier shatters, leaving Julianna facing Team Aqua, who are trying to pry the ribbons off of their Golbats, and Shelly trying to do the same to her Crobat. Julianna taps her foot.
Julianna: Now what do we have here?
Shelly: You have some nerve, kid.
Aqua Grunt1: What the zark did you do to our Golbats?!
Julianna twirls her staff thoughtfully.
Julianna: I am Julianna Harricina, queen of all the Magical Mushroom Girls. Who are you?
Shelly: Nunya.
Julianna: Nunya…?
Aqua Grunt1: As in Nunya business!
Julianna: I know what "Nunya" means, Baka!
Julianna holds her staff vertically and slams the end of her staff into the ground forcefully, and suddenly a frying pan falls from the sky and bonks the grunt on the head.
Julianna: Now tell me your real name!
Aqua Grunt2: Hold on Shelly, "Harricina" is a Mid-Childan name… (whisper)
This comment appears to upset Julianna, although it is unknown how much she actually heard.
Julianna: I order you to tell me your name!
Shelly: Shut up little girl.
This comment serves to further rile up Julianna, who brandishes her staff, and swings it in front of her, causing frying pans to fall from the sky, repeatedly, on the heads of Team Aqua. The three grunts cover their heads and call to Shelly (who is also covering her head) for help, but upon seeing Shelly covering her head, turn and run. Julianna looks pleased with herself.
Julianna: So now tell me–
Realizing the grunts have fled with their Golbats, Shelly curses under her breath, then darts off after the grunts, which appears to upset Julianna, who suddenly leaps into the air, staff in hand to chase after Shelly up the path.
Julianna: Tell. Me. Your. Name!
As she flies after Team Aqua, Julianna swings her staff, continuing to rain frying pans down on Team Aqua. The grunts yelp and run faster, while Shelly hurls a frying pan back at Julianna. Julianna easily dodges, and continues her assault.
Narrator: Hmm. According to the galaxy’s guide book for hitchhikers, Magical Mushroom Girls use so-called real magic, that follows the laws of emotion rather than the laws of logic.
Julianna: Tell. Me. Your. Name!
Shelly: I told you! It’s Nunya!
Julianna: Liar, liar, pants on fire!
Shelly yelps as her pants instantly begin smoldering.
New Scene()
Rescue Group lies in the forest underneath the canopy of the trees, while the girl in red stands, leaning against a tree. The curl on her head QST::defn(JP#ahoge) twitches as she surveys Rescue Group. Fred slowly gets to his feet.
Fred: Who, are you?
The girl in red’s curl bounces twice, and she stands up straighter.
Girl_in_Red → Mia: I’m magical mushroom girl Mia Letterbottom. Who are you?
Fred: Fred. Fred Jones.
Mia: Nice to meet you Mr. Jones.
Fred: Uh, just call me Fred…
Daphne: Forget about the pleasantries! This mountain is going to explode!
Mia flinches, and her curl/ahoge stands straight up.
Mia: Explode?
Velma: M-hm.
From where he is lying face-down, Benjy props himself up on his elbows.
Benjy: Team Aqua–those people in blue–are pumping water into this mountain. That water is going to heat up, and the pressure is going to blow this mountain to bits.
Mia: Eh-explode?
Scooby: Rut roar ray ragical rushroom rirl. Rurely roo ran rop rem, right?
Mia shakes her head nervously
Mia: I… This is a job for the prime minister! But first, you’re injured! Let me heal you!
Benjy: No go get your prime minister!
QST.camera split-screens on the other members of Rescue Group, who are all staring at Benjy, concerned
Mia: But I–
Benjy: Every second is critical!
Mia stands figuratively petrified.
Benjy: If this mountain explodes, we all die anyway. Quickly, summon your prime minister!
Mia starts to nod, then shivers and quickly teleports away.
Ash: Benjy…
Benjy curses under his breath, and May stands up with Celebi on her shoulder.
May: Um…
Benjy: May, Celebi, get ready to timetravel.
May swallows hard, and Celebi shakes it’s head on May’s shoulder.
May: Celebi, what’s wrong?
Celebi rustles it’s wings and shakes it’s head.
Velma: Something might be blocking it’s time-traveling ability.
May looks down at Benjy.
May: So does that mean?
Benjy collapses back to the ground.
Benjy: Someone’s got to cast morning’s end.
Ash: That was plan C; I guess.
Ash: Uh, Benjy…
Daphne: We need to get back to Lavaridge. I’m comfortable leaving it to their prime minister.
Scooby nods.
Velma: That’s a dangerous gamble.
May: There’s not much we can do like this…
Fred nods and walks over to Benjy, asking Ash to help him lift Benjy onto his (Fred’s) back.
Benjy: I can walk…
Velma: It’s probably better you don’t though…
Fred now stands up with Benjy secured on his back, and starts walking down the trail to Lavaridge, the rest of Rescue Group following him. May hurries up to Fred’s side with Celebi on her shoulder and Beautifly on her head.
Beautifly: Beauty…
New Scene()
In the Lavaridge Pokémon Center, Max is sitting on a cushion swinging his feet. Satolite flies around the room in a circle nervously a couple of times before landing on the counter, knocking some papers to the floor with the wind from it’s wings. Jirachi is trying to make sense of some papers on the counter as well.
Jirachi: Hmmm…
Max: You just saying that or did you find something?
Jirachi: Depends on what this says.
May jumps down from the cushion, and hurries over to the counter where Jirachi is searching. Jirachi drops the piece of paper down for Max to read, but before he can, footsteps splashing in the water outside turn everyone’s attention towards the door. Flannery catches her breath on the door frame, her clothes wet and completely out of breath.
Flannery: We’ve… Got trouble! Nurse Joy!
Flannery looks around desperately for Nurse Joy.
Max: She’s not here, we’ve been looking for a note and–
Flannery falls to her knees with a splash in the water on the floor.
Max: What’s the matter?
Flannery: Team Aqua’s assembling on the north ridge…
Flannery is cut off as the ground starts to shake, almost knocking Max and Flannery both over. As soon as the shaking stops, a splashing noise can be heard coming towards the pokémon center, and a Team Aqua Grunt pokes his head into the building.
Team Aqua Grunt: I’m sorry, but this are is off limits.
Max: This is the pokémon center…
Flannery reaches for a poké ball, but the grunt scoffs.
Team Aqua Grunt: Like you’re fire pokémon are going to be of any use against–
The grunt stops talking as Satolite sparks inside the pokémon center, then before anyone knows what’s going on, Satolite is one millimeter from the Team Aqua Grunt’s nose. The grunt reaches for a poké ball, but Satolite suddenly uses discharge, shooting electricity into the grunt. A split-second later the charge hits the water nearby him, turning it into steam. The floor of the pokémon center now crackles, and the front windows of the pokémon center explode, while the grunt falls to the ground, no longer conscious, and hits his head on the damp ground outside the door with a thud.
Satolite: Hisss…
More water rushes in to where the current had caused water to evaporate. Max, Satolite, and Jirachi all look at each other, and appear to agree on something without saying anything. Flannery pulls herself to her feet and starts walking towards the back of the pokémon center.
Max: W-where are you going?
Flannery: To get grandpa’s bat. It looks like we’re going to be busting some kneecaps.
Flannery pulls the door to one of the pokémon center’s closets open and extracts a pair of mithril halberds, and tosses one towards Max, which Satolite catches for him.
Flannery: These will have to do.
Max: It’s just like Benjy said. This is war…
Flannery: Let’s go!
Satolite suddenly discharges a long bolt of electricity that shoots across the water, and turning it to steam as it does. The charge zips out the door, where it hits someone offscreen who screams. Flannery now hurries out the door halberd in hand, and QST.camera follows her.
Outside of the pokémon center, the scream is revealed to have come from a Team Aqua Grunt, who is collapsed on his knees breathing heavily.
Team Aqua Grunt2: There you are Gym Leader!
Two male Team Aqua grunts rush at Flannery, who bonks the first with her halberd, and then knees the second in the stomach. Satolite flies out behind Flannery and zaps both grunts. However they both charge Flannery again. Flannery smacks the grunt on her left upside the head with her halberd, while Max trips the grunt on her right with his. The grunt crashes to the ground and grabs Max by the ankle, but Jirachi teleports him away. With one less grunt to worry about, Flannery smacks the grunt on her left with her halberd, striking him in the chest and stunning him, before whacking him again with enough force to knock him over on his buttocks, to where he coughs up a tiny bit of blood. As he does, Satolite zaps him, making the grunt lose consciousness. Jirachi now teleports the remaining two grunts away.
New Scene()
Rescue Group is moving quickly through the forests on the slope of Mount Chimney.
Daphne: How much further?
Fred: Shouldn’t be too far.
Riding on Ash’s shoulder, Pikachu’s ears perk up. A split-second later a steamy explosion occurs in the bushes up ahead, spewing hot water at all the members of Rescue Group; Scooby whimpers.
Team Magma Grunt: Numel, stay strong!
Team Aqua Grunt: Douse them in water!
Rescue Group, led by Fred, quickly changes direction to avoid this battle, but suddenly a gigantic blast of hot steam erupts from the ground in front of them.
May: Now what?
Fred: We have no choice.
The entire group backs up, and then Fred charges straight towards the battling grunts. QST.camera zooms in on Benjy as Fred runs.
Benjy: It’s beginning…
Both grunts look up as Rescue Group comes rushing towards them. The Team Aqua Grunt orders his Corphish to use crabhammer on Fred’s shin, and while the attack connects, this doesn’t stop Fred’s charge. Before the Corphish can attack again, Pikachu zaps it, knocking it out, while footsteps can be heard sloshing up Mt. Chimney.
Team Magma Grunt: Flamethrower!
The Team Aqua Grunt dodges the flamethrower, but May nearly runs into it, falling backwards just in time and sliding under the attack on the muddy ground. The flamethrower goes into the bushes, which ignite, and two Team Aqua grunts hidden in them (the bushes) scream. The rest of Rescue Group comes to an abrupt stop to dodge the flames.
May now starts to get to her feet, her legs scraped and her hands and knees covered with mud, when the ground shakes, spewing scalding hot water into the air. These droplets hit everyone, inflicting first-degree burns where they come in contact with skin, dousing the fire, and washing away the mud on May as she and Ash both yelp in pain.
Fred: Quickly!
QST.camera zips ahead to Fred as the rest of Rescue Group chases after him. While the grunts are too dazed to react, as they all flee down the burning and flooding mountainside. This lasts for twenty seconds (real time), as water explodes on their left and right, and Velma catches May to stop her from tripping. At the end of these twenty seconds Daphne shouts that she can see Lavaridge in the distance.
Ash: You can?! Where?!
Daphne: Through those trees!
Daphne points, and Lavaridge town becomes slowly visible on QST.camera.
New Scene()
QST.camera moves through the forests of Mount Chimney where water is exploding in blasts from the ground. After covering about 100 feet (2 to 3 seconds (real time)), Team Magma and Team Aqua can be seen fighting with each other and tens of Magical Mushroom Girls, whom are flying about blasting magic from their weapons.
Team Aqua Grunt: Just let us expand the sea in peace!
Team Magma Grunt: But that means less land for fire-type Pokémon!
Magical Mushroom Girl: You’re fighting is destroying our home!
A girl’s scream can be heard from the forest, and the Magical Mushroom Girl quickly flies away to see who it is. QST.camera follows her about 30 feet, to where the scream is revealed to be from a Team Aqua grunt. The Magical Mushroom Girl blasts her with magic, knocking her out cold.
QST.camera now zips through the forest to where Romeae has thrown up a barrier to block the fire from Maxie’s Camerupt which is staring her down, and then zips again to where Yuka is trying to extract her staff from a Poochyena’s jaws.
Revert Scene()
Up ahead of Rescue Group, a Magical Mushroom Girl chases a Zubat across the path, riding her staff like a broomstick. This is followed a few seconds later by the Magical Mushroom Girl being chased back across the path by a swarm of Zubat.
Narrator: Looks like repel’s effect wore off–oh no!
The swarm of Zubat is now chased back across the path by a swarm of Magical Mushroom Girls, all blasting them with magic.
May: My leg is cramping!
Ash: Hold on, May! We’re almost there!
QST.camera now zooms ahead through the trees and into Lavaridge Town, where Flannery and Max are looking around.
Flannery: I swear there were more of them…
Max says nothing, but just bites his lip. Slowly, a silhouette of a tall man becomes visible in the steam.
Matt’s voice: So you’re tougher than you look, little Flannery.
Max: I recognize that voice!
Matt now becomes visible through the steam.
Matt: And I recognize you from the summit. This is going to be fun!
Both Max and Flannery raise their halberds defensively. Nearby Matt, a large geyser bursts from the ground. Satolite sparks, and Jirachi eyes Matt angrily.
Matt: Hahahaha! The ground rumbles. The land dissolves into the sea! A setting perfect for battle! Come at me!
Flannery and Max don’t move.
Matt: Then I’ll take the first strike!
Matt rushes at Flannery, drawing an adamantite two-handed sword. Satolite blasts him with thunderbolt, but Matt shrugs it off.
Max: That’s not right! How does a human just–
Max is cut off as Matt brings his sword down on Flannery, who blocks with her halberd. Matt backs up and takes another swing, this time breaking Flannery’s halberd and forcing her backwards.
Max starts to rush towards Matt, but before he can take more then a single step Jirachi and Satolite attack him with psychic and thunderbolt respectively, but even this combined attack doesn’t seem to do much. Matt brushes these off, then prepares to deal with Flannery, whom is now weaponless.
Max: Get off of her!
Max rushes Matt, swinging his halberd angrily, and striking Matt in the leg. QST.camera zooms in as the blade of Max’s halberd fails to penetrate Matt’s pants. Max swallows hard.
Max: That’s why he’s able to just ignore our attacks! He’s wearing armor!
Matt: You’ve got guts, kid.
QST.camera zooms out in time to see Matt kick Max backwards, swiping his halberd and throwing it into the distance. Max lands on his back in the water.
Max: He’s wearing armor! Aim for his–
Max is cut off as Matt smacks him (not too hard) with the flat of his sword, knocking Max backwards to where Matt’s sword is about one foot from Max’s throat. Following this, Matt is struck in the head by a rock which came out of nowhere. Holding his sword steady, Matt turns, as does QST.camera.
In the distance, rushing towards them, currently 500 feet away, Rescue Group has arrived, and Fred is holding a loaded slingshot pointed straight at Matt.
Matt: Well well well, what do we have here?
Matt looks down to see that Max is now well away from his sword. Flannery is holding a large rock, and in a split-second she hurls it at Matt, though he easily side-steps the rock, smiling. At the same time, Satolite and Jirachi attack Matt again, not inflicting much damage, and Matt picks up his sword as if to smack Flannery.
Daphne: Rush him!
Matt is suddenly hit with Pikachu’s thunder, Celebi’s psychic, and Beautifly’s silver wind, taking him by surprise as Rescue Group rushes towards him.
Ash: Corphish! Treecko! Bubble beam! Bullet seed!
Benjy: Shroomish! Shadow rush!
Fred: Scooby! You too!
Scooby: Rut?
Narrator: Absolutely do NOT try this at home.
As Corphish, Treecko, and Shroomish rush towards Matt, Fred picks up Scooby and drop-kicks him into the air, on a trajectory towards Matt. Shroomish crashes into Matt first, then Corphish and Treecko, which combined with all of the other attacks nearly knock Matt off of his feet. As Matt regains his balance, Scooby comes crashing down on him, slashing Matt’s chest with his nails and getting wedged in between Matt and his armor.
As soon as both realize what’s happened, Scooby starts to flail, tearing Matt’s hauberk while Shroomish tears at his leg armor. Matt struggles, but quickly drops his sword, falling over backwards in the water with Scooby flailing and kicking, and panting heavily.
Matt: Why you mutt–
Matt inflates his chest, and tries to grab Scooby’s head, but Scooby grits his teeth and snaps, bitting Matt’s hand. At the same time, Matt’s hauberk breaks shooting Scooby off of him and exposing his bare chest.
Velma: Bullseye!
Satolite has now situated itself right over Matt, and Pikachu is on Matt’s leg, on the opposite side as Shroomish. Before Matt can react, both Satolite and Pikachu hit him with a huge electric charge, which is enough to make Matt seize up and flail about in the water, flinging Shroomish off of his pants, and finally going limp.
Refresh Scene()
Benjy is keeping a close eye on Matt while everyone else is surveying the mess.
May: Max, did everyone evacuate?
Max: I couldn’t find anyone other than Flannery.
Ash, Fred, and Velma turn to Flannery, who is shivering.
Flannery: We were wiped out, so I came to the pokémon center and…
???: You guys!
A man with a pitchfork and a woman with a shovel are running towards the group.
Man: Team Aqua’s advancing from the north west!
Woman: And Team Magma’s coming from the eas–!
The woman is cut off as a geyser bursts from the ground nearby.
Archie’s voice: That’s interesting.
Everyone turns as Archie emerges from the steam, four grunts lined up behind him
Maxie’s voice: Indeed.
Maxie also emerges from the steam, with four grunts behind him.
Max: This is bad!
Scooby: Rery rery rad!
Pikachu and Satolite continue to spark, but are obviously exhausted from the fight against Matt. Shelly and more grunts appear from the steam behind Archie, while Tabitha steps out from behind Maxie.
Archie: This is our turf now, Maxie. Team Magma has no place here.
Maxie: You’re turf? Do you think you’re still a schoolboy, Archie?
Archie: Heh.
Scooby now starts to back away.
Archie: Don’t think of running away, either.
Scooby stops moving, scared.
Maxie: If this town is going to belong anyone, then it’s going to belong to Team Magma.
Max: What do we do?
Benjy: Ignore him. Run! (Whisper)
QST.camera goes into split-screen as Archie and Maxie face off.
Archie/Maxie: Attack!
Benjy: Now!
Rescue Group, Max, Flannery, Satolite and all the pokémon take off running/flying southwards as attacks collide where they were previously standing. Underneath them, the ground rumbles, nearly knocking everyone to the ground.
Fred: Hold on! I see people!
Rescue Group, Max, Flannery, Satolite, and all the pokémon, come to a screeching halt at the start of a flooded neighborhood (and Benjy, Ash, and May start recalling their creatures). In the distance, nearly fifty silhouettes are slowly making their way towards them.
Scooby: Rit’s the Radows of Reath!
After two tense seconds, the light hits these silhouettes revealing dozens of Magical Mushroom Girls. All are wielding weapons and look rather upset.
May: You know, they’re not that cute when they’re this angry…
Ash: Incoming!
All look up to see magical blasts hurled their way, and dodge, being chased northwards.
Velma: Wait, we can’t! Team Aqua and Team Magma are–
Velma is cut off as a blast of magic strikes her in the back of the head, knocking her down.
Fred: No way!
May: We’re surrounded!
QST.camera zooms out on the group showing that they, as well as several villagers (who come out of their houses as QST.camera zooms out) are surrounded by Team Aqua, Team Magma, and the Magical Mushroom Girls.
