Zoey sits in her bedroom, staring at her hands, which have mysteriously turned into cat paws.

Zoey: Someone…  Help…

New SubScene()

Zoey is lying face-down in Ciri’s arms in her front yard.  The front door of her house appears to be blown in, and a man is lying face-up unconscious just inside the door.  Zoey’s arms and legs have transformed into a cat’s, and in addition to the ears and the tail of her mew form, Zoey now has whiskers.  Zoey coughs desperately for air.

Ash: Are you sure she’ll be alright?

Ciri: It’s an industrial strength breathing spell, so it will reconfigure her insides if that’s what it takes.

With a final hacking cough, Zoey coughs up a giant hairball onto Ciri’s shoe.

Ash: It doesn’t make any sense though.

New SubScene()

Zoey’s father makes the chainsaw saw faster, but it still can’t cut through the barrier.  Ciri wears a an expression showing her concentration, before Zoey’s father suddenly raises the chainsaw over his head.

Zoey’s Father: I WILL HAVE BLOOD, GUTS, AND–

Zoey’s father starts to bring the chainsaw down against the barrier again, but before he can.

Bridget: Tsunami buster!
A powerful blast of water strikes Zoey’s father, knocking him away from Ciri, and knocking the chainsaw out of his hand.  Zoey’s father crashes onto his back about five yards from Ciri, and the chainsaw falls right behind him, sticking into the ground.  Bridget now runs up to Ciri.

Bridget: Ciri!

Ciri: Bridget…

Refresh SubScene()

Satolite grows at Zoey’s father.

Zoey’s Father: Yes, your head will also look lovely on my wall!

Zoey’s father starts to laugh again.

Yami Benjy: Bridget!  Ciri!

Zoey’s father charges towards Bridget, but Ciri appears to uppercut the air, which causes a massive explosion to occur under Zoey’s father, sending him flying thirty feet into the air.

Yami Benjy: Satolite!

In the blink of an eye, Satolite grabs Yami Benjy and flies him towards Zoey’s father, who prepares to attack both Satolite and Yami Benjy in mid-air.  Before he can, Yami Benjy materializes the energy sword that he used to fight Deep Blue, then Satolite releases him, and in one fluid motion, Yami Benjy cuts the chainsaw in two with his sword, landing hard on his feet, which forces him to drop down onto one knee.  Zoey’s father comes crashing down into the street, no longer conscious.

New SubScene()

In the backroom of the Mew Café, Zoey is on a table while Ciri, Elliot, Bridget, Benjy, Ash, and Max are gathered around.

Elliot: You said that every time you touch him your transformation dissolves?

Ciri: Benjy!  Quickly!  Grab Zoey!

Benjy: Me?

Elliot: It’s our best bet.  Go touch Zoey’s tail.  Please!

Benjy shudders, then slowly approaches Zoey.  Shuddering, Benjy reaches his hand out and touches Zoey’s tail.  Immediately, but very slowly, Zoey’s tail starts to evaporate and shrivel.

Bridget: What’s going on?

Elliot: It’s a miracle.

Max: Well, it doesn’t look like it’s doing much…

Ciri: He’s trying!

Benjy: Um…

Elliot: Because you’re not using your full power.

New Scene(@Temporal = Evening)

In the back room of the Mew Cafe, Benjy slowly melts away Zoey’s whiskers, while the others look on nervously.

Bridget: Not his full power?  What do you mean?

Footsteps now are heard in the hall, and all aside from Elliot turn around as Corina, Kikki, and Renee come running and burst into the room.

Renee: We got your text–

Corina: What’s wrong with Zoey?!

Benjy steps aside, and Corina gasps when he does.

Mark: Zoey…

Mark darts into the room and rushes over towards Zoey.  He turns to Benjy.

Mark: What’s going on?

Benjy: Supposedly, I have the power to undo this.

Mark: But what happened?

Elliot: Ciri, is it?

Mark and the other members of Team Mew turn to Ciri.

Elliot: Please tell us again.

Ciri: Ash and I went to Zoey’s house and knocked on her door because we had questions about what happened two nights ago.

Renee: And you found Zoey like this?

Ciri: Her parents were there, and they attacked us without any warning, so we stunned them.

Ash: And then Pikachu heard something from upstairs, so we went inside into Zoey’s room.

Ciri: And when we discovered her she was in this state.

Corina: Her *parents* attacked you?!

Elliot: For some time, I’ve been concerned that there would be a new enemy.  I can’t tell if Zoey’s parents are part of it or whether they were manipulated

Mark: But right now, how do we fix Zoey?!

Elliot: That’s something only he can do.

Elliot gestures at Benjy who stares back at Elliot curiously.

Elliot: Zoey’s mew aqua levels are way to high.

Benjy: In other words, too much anima.

Renee: Anima?!

Benjy: Mew aqua is extremely concentrated anima.

Benjy looks up to see everyone else in the room looking at him.

Elliot: What?!  How do you know that?

Max: It’s a long story.

Elliot shivers, and Corina starts to walk towards Zoey

Elliot: And that the last piece of the puzzle.  It all makes sense now!

Mark: Elliot!  What does he have to do?

Elliot: Benjy… has an unusual ability known as acidic reality.  This ability will allow him to undo the effect of the mew aqua on Zoey.

Kikki: So you mean that Zoey will lose her powers?!

Elliot: Right.  Her reaction to the mew aqua was especially strong, which is probably why this happened.

Mark suddenly looks up.

Mark: Zoey’s bleeding!

QST.camera zooms in on Zoey, under whom a puddle of blood is forming.  The other members of Team Mew gasp in horror.

Corina: Benjy!

Benjy quickly puts both is hands on Zoey, but not much appears to be happening.

Bridget: Why isn’t it working?!

Kikki: Because you need to believe in yourself! (to Benjy)

Benjy: Believe?

Yami Benjy: Remember what you told me?  It’s not by might, it’s not by power, it’s by spirit alone that we all–

Benjy: I remember.

Suddenly, the poké balls in Benjy’s pockets wiggle, and Satolite, Bayleef, Shroomish, and Celebi emerge into the room.

Yami Benjy: They’ve come out to say that they all believe in you…

Benjy: Believe?

Elliot takes a couple steps closer to Benjy.

Elliot: Not exactly.  You’re ability, Acidic Reality, is fueled by disbelief.

Corina: But that doesn’t make any sense!

Elliot: Not disbelief in yourself, but it works best when you can’t believe what’s right in front of you.  You’re looking at real live cat-girl, those belong in anime, don’t they?

Elliot is visibly shivering.

Kikki: But she is real!

QST.camera zooms in on Benjy’s face (his eyes specifically) as what everyone has said bounces around inside Benjy’s head.  As QST.camera zooms in on Benjy’s eyes, they start glowing faintly with white light.

QST.camera now refocuses on Benjy as he stares at Zoey.  Spots of blood start to appear on Zoey’s skin.

Ash: Benjy!  She’s–

Bridget: It’s like a bad dream!

Benjy: Enough!

Suddenly, Benjy’s eyes start glowing with a bright white light, (resembling Alluka from Hunter X Hunter).

Corina: Is it working?

Elliot: What does Occam’s Razor say?

Benjy: That…  this…  is… … a bad dream!

Suddenly the white light grows to encompass Benjy’s entire head, before slowly moving down his arms and body, until his entire body is glowing with white light.

Benjy: And I guess the only way to see what’s really in front of me is to reach out and touch it.

Gingerly, Benjy extends his index finger towards Zoey, but before he can, the light appears to explode out from Benjy in a flash of white.  QST.camera becomes obscured by the light, and while obscured synchronizes with Benjy’s vision.  As Benjy begins to see again, he puts his hand on Zoey.  Suddenly, with a crackling sound, Zoey’s cat-features shatter, leaving human ones behind.  QST.camera now desynchronizes with Benjy’s vision.

Mark: Zoey!

Benjy collapses to his knees as Mark rushes up to Zoey, almost tripping over him.

Zoey: M-mark…

Benjy now stands up, and appears to emit a pulse of energy through the room as he looks around.

Max: This is acidic reality?!

Elliot: This is acidic reality.

Elliot now turns to Benjy.

Elliot: Whenever you see something that shouldn’t be, just remember how the real world works.

Benjy turns to Elliot, shaking, and suddenly the energy in the room seems to die down somewhat.

Elliot: That’s all it takes to use it.

Still shaking, Benjy nods.

Benjy: Hold on, Mark?

Mark and Zoey both look up.

Benjy: Can I please make sure that this doesn’t happen again?

Zoey: What do you mean?

Elliot: Zoey, your powers have become hazardous to your health.  Please allow Benjy to permanently erase them.

Corina: Permanently…

Kikki: Erase…

(Brief moment of silence)

Zoey: Okay.  I don’t need them anymore, do I?

Elliot shakes his head.

Zoey: Go ahead.

Benjy nods, and trembling, slowly and gently moves his index finger towards Zoey’s forehead.  As his index finger approaches her forehead, a hologram of Zoey’s mew form appears around her, flickering at first.  As Benjy taps Zoey on the forehead, the hologram of her mew form shatters.

Kikki: Wow…

Narrator: *chuckles* Way to go, Benjy.

Bridget: Wait, you mentioned something about a new enemy?

New Scene()

In the dining area of the mew cafe, Team Mew sit at tables, along with Zoey, Mark, Ciri, Ash, Max, and Benjy.

Elliot: To be honest, it’s all very weird.

Corina: But what now?  Zoey can’t go home!

Mark offers to let Zoey stay with him, which makes Zoey’s face turn bright red.

Elliot: I honestly don’t think that that would be a good idea.

Corina: What?  You’re afraid that they’re going to–

Elliot shakes his head embarrassed.

Renee: That’s not why.  Remember how Deep Blue appeared?

The Millennium Gameboy Advance glows brightly around Benjy’s neck, and the Eye of Anubis symbol appears on his forehead.  Yami Benjy now stands up

Yami Benjy: I no longer sense his aura.  Do you think that crushing his mind was insufficient to defeat him?

Renee: You used the ancient mind crush technique.  Where did you learn that?

Yami Benjy: I can’t remember, but back to my question.

Renee: So it looks like there are two of you.  When the Eye of Anubis appears on your forehead, your personality changes.

Max: Yup, that’s how it works.

Elliot: The concern is whether you actually destroyed Deep Blue, or just knocked him dormant again.

Mark begins to shiver.

Mark: I can sort of recall what happened, but it was like a dream.  I thought it was a dream…  fighting with you…

This last comment is directed towards Yami Benjy.

Mark: And then there was Zoey’s…

Elliot: So to be honest, I don’t know what will happen.  I suggest you stay with one of your other friends until we’ve figured out what’s going on and made it safe again.

Zoey nods, and suddenly the bells on the door of the Mew Cafe jingle as Tornamistrik enters, carrying some bags of supplies, which he places on a table by the entrance.

Corina: Wesley…

Yami Benjy: Tornamistrik!

Tornamistrik smiles.

Tornamistrik: Please, call me Tornamistrik.

Kikki: But why?

Tornamistrik: Tornamistrik is my real name.  Tornamistrik Molotov.  It was important I use an alias while Deep Blue was at large, but that’s in the past now.

Bridget: Why?

Tornamistrik: What’s this I heard about Zoey’s parents?

Elliot: You got my text?

Tornamistrik: I heard it on the news.

Everyone falls silent.

Tornamistrik: With so many reporters in the town, someone managed to capture most of the fight on film.

Tornamistrik pulls out a remote, and turns on a TV on the wall, which is showing footage from the fight, however Ash’s, Ciri’s, Bridget’s, Zoey’s, Benjy’s, and Max’s faces are all blurred.  The TV runs as Anca talks

Anca: So you said all they did was knock on the door?

Man’s voice: Just a knock, and suddenly the couple starts to attack them, so we started filming.

The footage of the battle plays until Yami Benjy cuts the chainsaw in two, when Anca asks:

Anca: So what just happened?

Man’s voice: We’re not sure.  Afterwards the kids took the cat-girl to get help.  It looked like they knew a specialist or something.

Anca: Okay, this just in.  The name of the cat-girl is believed to be Zoey Hanson.  If anyone knows what’s happened to her, please report to the pokémon center here in Oldale immediately.

Elliot now goes over to Tornamistrik, and whispers something incomprehensible to him.

Tornamistrik: I see.  So she no longer has her powers.

Elliot shakes his head.

Anca: And do you know anything about the fire that broke out?

Zoey: Fire?!

The TV now changes to show footage of Zoey’s house on fire.

Man’s voice: They still don’t know anything.

Zoey: My house…

Anca: For those of you just joining us, if you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Zoey Hanson, please report it to the Oldale Town Pokémon center.

Kikki: Wow…

Elliot: So Wes–I mean Tornamistrik…

Tornamistrik: It’s too early to be sure what’s going on with Zoey’s parents, but your prediction was right on the money.  The new enemy is on the move.

Bridget: What new enemy?

Tornamistrik: It’s highly confidential information.

Tornamistrik turns to Ash, Max, Benjy, and Ciri.

Tornamistrik: I can only tell the members of Team Mew.  I’m sorry, but you’ll have to leave.

Ciri: Hold on a minute!  Zoey’s parents attacked us!

Yami Benjy: If this is related, keeping secrets put us all at risk!

Tornamistrik: I don’t know if it’s related or not.  It’s too soon to tell.  But, we could make a compromise.

Tornamistrik looks to Elliot.

Elliot: Ciri, how would like to take Zoey’s place?

Refresh Scene()

Ciri, now standing, appears to ponder the offer, while everyone else looks on.  This lasts for several seconds.

Ciri: Me?

Elliot nods.

Ciri: Under one condition.

Tornamistrik: What would that be?

Ciri is now shaking.

Ciri: You don’t alter my D.N.A..

Elliot: Uh…  That’s sort of the whole point.

Tornamistrik now pulls the Mew ray out of his pocket.

Elliot: It won’t hurt at all, I swear.

Ciri: I don’t want my D.N.A. changed.

Ash: Wait, hold on, it’s her D.N.A. and–

Ash is cut off as Tornamistrik pushes the button on the mew ray.  QST.camera goes into slow motion as it fires an energy beam at Ciri.  As the beam moves towards Ciri, suddenly a translucent yellow barrier appears around her.  QST.camera returns to normal speed as the beam strikes the shield, and starts sparking, before exploding harmlessly into the air (it’s a small explosion); Ciri is completely protected by her shield.

Ciri: Please…

Elliot: But you won’t be able to fight without.

Ash: But Ciri has magic!

Tornamistrik: It’s not going to be enough.

Bridget: But she’s just as strong as we are!

Renee: Maybe.

Ciri: Please don’t change my D.N.A.…

Elliot: Well, you’re probably going get very hurt if you don’t–

Tornamistrik: Lets test her.

Elliot: Now?

Tornamistrik: Yes, I can do that.

Tornamistrik smiles sweetly.

Tornamistrik: Ciri, are you ready?

Tornamistrik: To die?

Ciri nods, and her eyes and mouth start to glow with yellow light, and then a triangle forms on Ciri’s face, with yellow lines connecting her eyes and mouth.  Still encased in the shield, Ciri’s left arm turns red and her right arm turns green.  Ash, Max, Zoey, and Mark step out of the way.

Tornamistrik: Your magic level is probably between fifteen and eighteen, so this should be more than enough.

Putting the mew ray down, Tornamistrik claps his hands in front of himself.  Tornamistrik pulls his hands to his chest, then shoots out both arms at Ciri, while keeping his hands together and then lifts them into the air to the left.

Suddenly a red energy beam shoots from Tornamistrik’s right elbow at Ciri, and crashes into her shield.  At first the beam slowly cracks through Ciri’s shield, but after shattering enough of it, it shatters the rest of Ciri’s shield and crashes into her, exploding between tables in the cafe, obscuring Ciri burning everything around her.

Ciri crashes to the ground as everyone aside from Elliot, Tornamistrik, and Ciri do their best to shield themselves from the burning debris, with Mark protecting Zoey.

Max: Ciri!

As the dust clears, Ciri is revealed to be lying on the floor, covered in first-degree burns, with a few second-degree burns on her shoulders and arms.  Ciri is shivering, but clearly alive.  Ash, Yami Benjy, and Max rush over to her, as Tornamistrik picks up the mew ray again, but seeing that Ash is in his way, puts it back down again.

Ash: Ciri!  Are you okay?!

Ciri seems to have a hard time talking.  Some of her blood drips onto the ground.  Yami Benjy glances at Tornamistrik suspiciously.

Yami Benjy: We need to get her to the hospital.

Max: Ciri!  Say something!

Ciri: Ow…

Yami Benjy now begins to scoop Ciri up, and Mark quickly comes to help him.  Together they lift Ciri into Yami Benjy’s arms.

Yami Benjy: Sorry, we’ve got to go…

Ash rushes to open the door so that Yami Benjy can carry Ciri out of the Mew Cafe, and Max follows Yami Benjy.  Ciri cringes as the wind blows against her burns.  As Yami Benjy walks out, with Ash and Max behind him, Zoey and Mark also emerge from the cafe.

Mark: Need help?

Yami Benjy: I think I’ve got her.

Max: What are you guys doing?

Mark: I’m taking Zoey to the pokémon center so that the authorities know that she’s alright…  If you’re sure you’re fine…

Yami Benjy: Yes, but thank you.

Yami Benjy looks to Ash and Max.

Yami Benjy: Come on.  We need to get her medical attention.

Yami Benjy turns to Zoey and Mark.

Yami Benjy: We’ll catch up with you.

Mark nods, and with this, he and Zoey walk off towards the pokémon center holding hands.  Yami Benjy re-adjusts Ciri, and then hurries after Mark and Zoey with Ash and Max right behind him.

New Scene()

In the Mew Cafe Elliot, Bridget, Corina, Kikki, and Renee stare at Tornamistrik in horror.

Tornamistrik: Interesting…  That should have reduced her to a pile of ashes.  I better play this down.

Tornamistrik: Uh…  Maybe that was a bit too strong…

Corina: Do ya think?!

Tornamistrik: I’ll go make her some cakes for when she feels better.

Tornamistrik starts to go into the back of the cafe.

Bridget: It’s okay.  Ciri doesn’t eat anything that she doesn’t make herself.

Tornamistrik turns around and sighs.

Tornamistrik: She would have been such a powerful ally…  But it looks like she’ll be more of a stumbling block at this rate.

Elliot eyes Tornamistrik nervously.

Elliot: Something’s not right.  It’s like he’s a different person…

New Scene()

Yami Benjy is carrying Ciri to the pokémon center, with Ash and Max behind him.  Yami Benjy looks nervous, as does Pikachu who is riding on Ash’s shoulder.

Yami Benjy: I get the funniest feeling that that attack wasn’t a test so much…

Ash: Is she going to be okay?

Max: Of course, for Ciri, this is nothing.

Pikachu: Pi-ka?

Ash: Nothing, huh?

Ciri: It’s…  not…  that…  bad…

Max: Of course, she does have a habit of downplaying her injuries.

Yami Benjy shifts under Ciri’s weight.

Ciri: It’s okay…  I can walk…

Ash and Max both look at Ciri, slightly concerned.  Still Yami Benjy lets her down, and Ciri appears to be able to stand up without too much pain.

Ciri: It worries me though, if Team Mew can stand up to that.

Max: That was your full defensive power, wasn’t it?

Ciri nods slightly.

Ciri: Without soul guard.

Ash: Soul guard?

Ciri: Low-level, but really nasty protection spell.

Ciri now begins limping after Zoey and Mark.  Yami Benjy offers a hand but Ciri refuses it, in the process revealing some second-degree burns on her arms.

Ciri: Maybe the anima would protect them though, who knows?

Max: Or the test was just for you.

Ciri: Uh, Maybe?

New Scene()

Zoey, Mark, Benjy, Ash, and Max are standing around Ciri’s bed in the pokémon center.  A male nurse is checking Ciri’s vitals.  Ciri’s arms are bandaged.

Ash: Wait, what did you say?

Nurse: It looks a lot worse than it really is.

Ash: No, I mean Ciri?  You could’ve–

Ciri nods.

Ciri: If that was a real fight, he’d be dead if he used that.  That attack only works if you don’t have any shielding active, so it would have been extremely easy to just make one of his artery’s pop, or cause another fatal injury.

Nurse: Is this something I should be concerned with.

Ciri blushes, but shakes her head.

Narrator: Something tells me that someone isn’t as good a mage as he thinks he is…

The nurse finishes filling out some forms, then smiles at Ciri and exits the room.

Ash: So is it really that easy to kill someone with magic?

Ciri: Uh…

Mark: From what I understand, it’s just as easy to kill someone with magic than to kill someone without it.  Hitting someone with an explosion spell requires the same level of a skill as stabbing someone with a knife or shooting them with a crossbow.  In other words, not all that much.

Max: Uh, are you sure Deep Blue’s gone?

Mark: I hope so.

Mark looks down shakily.

Mark: He left some memories behind

Yami Benjy: Any of me?

Mark shakes his head.

Mark: Just a few bits and pieces here and there.  The ones of you were probably destroyed by your mind crush…

Yami Benjy: I see…

Ciri: So what was it like…  Um…  If you don’t mind reliving–

Mark: Sort of like a dream–but I wasn’t entirely sure what was going on.  Then suddenly, I felt Zoey’s aura–

Zoey blushes.

Mark: –and a burst of yellow light woke me up.

Yami Benjy: Well, whether or not Deep Blue is gone for good can probably be determined by finding the true age of your body.  If you were born in this era, then Deep Blue was probably just a rouge spirit and is probably destroyed by now.  If not…

Ms Wroshyr: It will probably take some neurosurgery.

Ms Wroshyr enters the room, walking towards Ciri’s bed.

Ciri: Amelia!

Ms Wroshyr: Could I borrow Benjy for a bit?

Yami Benjy: Um…

Ash: What for?

Ms Wroshyr: As far as the portal goes, there’s not much I can do without him.

Ms Wroshyr smiles.

Ciri: So what’s the new enemy?

Zoey: Wait, why are you asking your mother that?

Ms Wroshyr: First, I’m her aunt.  Second, who’s idea do you think it was to bug their base.

Zoey: You what?

Ciri: It was necessary.

Zoey: But what happens when they find them?

Ms Wroshyr: How about I tell you over dinner.

Ms Wroshyr winks at Zoey.

Ms Wroshyr: I also heard what happened to your family.  I’ve already set up a space for you in the lab.

Ciri: What?!

Zoey: But why?!

Ms Wroshyr’s tone suddenly stops being as happy.

Ms Wroshyr: Because you need to make yourself extremely scarce for the next few weeks.

Zoey: Why?!

Ms Wroshyr: Unless of course you like to kill people as much as your friend’s alter ego does.

With this, Ms Wroshyr walks away, leaving Zoey to faint and collapse into Mark’s arms.  Mark though doesn’t seem to be able to hold her well, as he is shaking too.  Ash quickly intervenes to prevent Zoey from falling.

Yami Benjy: I think she meant "did."

Ciri now sits up.

Ciri: Knowing her, there’s a fifty-fifty chance it was a slip of the tongue.

Ciri now turns to Mark.

Ciri: Don’t worry.  Now that I’ve seen how he fights, stopping him won’t be much of a challenge?

Ash and Max look at Ciri curiously.  Ciri now tries to stand up, shivering as she does so to the extent that Yami Benjy has to help her stand up.

New Scene()

Ash and company are seated again at Ms Wroshyr’s dining room table, with Ms Wroshyr and Mark and Zoey, meaning that the table is pretty crowded.  Except for Ms Wroshyr, all are looking nervous.

Brock: So this new enemy is…?

Ms Wroshyr: Is what I suspected from the get go.  But, the truth of the matter is extremely complex.

Ms Wroshyr stops taking to take a bit of her food.

Ms Wroshyr: I know the full story of what’s going on, although I’ll bet that that Elliot boy has no clue.

Zoey and Mark suddenly drop their forks, and Benjy flinches.

Zoey: So–

Ms Wroshyr: I have to give you a load of background for it to make any sense.  Ciri’s mother may even be involved, although she’s almost certainly on our side.

It’s now Ciri’s turn to drop her fork which falls to her plate with a clanging noise.

Ciri: What?!

Ms Wroshyr: That’s just speculation, but what I do know is about Zoey’s parents.  The timing of their actions couldn’t be anymore of a giveaway.

Mark: What are they up to?!

Ms Wroshyr: Well, they wanted Zoey to become something more than human.  Some kind of mutant monster.  And they accidentally let their true colors show.

Zoey: So the new enemy is my– p-p-p…

Ms Wroshyr: Not exactly.  Their just a small part of it.

Ms Wroshyr now stands up.

Ms Wroshyr: But killing them couldn’t hurt.

Ash and company gasp, while Zoey faints in her chair.

Ms Wroshyr: Though you kids are probably all too moe to get the job done.

Brock: You know, I was told you were mad, but I had no idea how– (upset)

Yami Benjy cuts Brock off.

Yami Benjy: Just how serious is this threat?

Ms Wroshyr: The level?  Orange, I believe.

Brock: And what is red?

Ms Wroshyr: To put it this way, ten billion people could die.

Brock: That’s more people than–

Ms Wroshyr: More than the population of Fenyra.  We’re lucky though.  Benjy showed up at the right time.

Benjy starts to blush and scoot backwards nervous.

Ms Wroshyr: The aftermath of the battle with Deep Blue gave the authorities the information that they needed, but we still have a part to play.

Zoey slowly opens her eyes in Mark’s lap.

Ms Wroshyr: Even now, Benjy’s planet is preparing aid.  But first, we have to save them.

Yami Benjy: You’re not making any sense.

Ms Wroshyr: It’s okay.  Right now, our objective is to get to the Earth as soon as possible.

Yami Benjy: And when are we doing this?

Ms Wroshyr: As soon as dinner is over.

With this, Ciri remarks that she can’t eat any more, and May say that she is too nervous to eat.  Ms Wroshyr smiles.

Ms Wroshyr: Then lets go.

New Scene()

In Ms Wroshyr’s lab, Benjy stands behind Ms Wroshyr while she checks the settings with a portal machine.  May, Max, and Zoey peer into the room through the doorway while Ms Wroshyr fiddles with the controls on the machine.

Zoey: It– it doesn’t make sense!  Why does this always happen to me?  Why?  Why can’t I live a normal life?  Is there something cosmic that’s–

Zoey has tears in her eyes, but May doesn’t appear to be aware of it.  Max has noticed, but doesn’t know what to do.

Ash’s voice: Zoey?

Zoey looks up as Ash comes down the stairs and into view via the doorway.  Zoey looks at Ash, but is unable to say anything.

Ash: Uh…  Ciri sent me to get you.

Zoey nods, and allows Ash to lead her up the stairs, while Benjy looks over his shoulder nervously.

Ms Wroshyr: Benjy, please place your hands on these posts.

Ms Wroshyr gestures to a pair of posts in front of the portal.

Benjy: Um–

Ms Wroshyr: It won’t send you home immediately, I still have to calibrate it, then you’ll have to physically step through the portal.

May, Max, and Benjy all give off a sigh of relief, and Benjy walks up to the posts and puts his hands on them.  Immediately, a device appears and scans his hands.

Benjy: How long have you known about this threat?

Ms Wroshyr: Four hours.

Benjy shivers.

Ms Wroshyr: Be still.  It will help the portal if we have an object from the target universe.

Benjy: Are you sure about this aid?

Ms Wroshyr: You come from America, they’re always itching for a good war, aren’t they?

Benjy: Sort of–

Ms Wroshyr: I’m not the only one who was eavesdropping on Team Mew.  So were defense stations planet-wide.  The fact that Zoey lost her powers means that things are going to go very… differently.

Benjy: You’re still not making sense.  Who is this new enemy?

Ms Wroshyr: I can’t name their organization without breaching confidentiality, but they aren’t new.  As far as we can tell, their goal is to eliminate humans’ free will.

Benjy’s head appears to emit a question mark while Ms Wroshyr scurries about the lab.

Ms Wroshyr: Which I admit doesn’t make sense in the least.

Benjy: So they’re religious fanatics?

Ms Wroshyr: That’s debatable.  But they’re willing to destroy entire planets if they think it fits the greater good.

May: What?!

Ms Wroshyr: They haven’t succeeded yet, bear in mind.  You can take your hands off the posts now and check my calculations.

As Ms Wroshyr darts about, she points Benjy to a monitor, which Benjy walks over to, May and Max emerging from the doorway behind him.

Benjy: You mean your arithmetic?

Ms Wroshyr: Or anything else.  We’re trying to hit a target about two point three five micrometers wide.

Benjy studies the screen carefully.

Benjy: I think this was mis-factored…

Ms Wroshyr quickly stops what she’s doing and comes over to the monitor.

Ms Wroshyr: This should be a minus sign.

Ms Wroshyr quickly changes the plus to a minus, then hurries on her way, Benjy continues to stare while May and Max’s gazes follow Ms Wroshyr.

Benjy: I guess it’s just a typo…  But will this really get me home?

New Scene()

In the kitchen, Mark and Ash are putting away what’s left of dinner.  QST.camera zooms through the wall into Ciri’s backyard, which is surprisingly small, about 20 feet by the length of the property.  The yard is overgrown with plants, except for where Ciri and Zoey are standing in the middle.

Zoey: Um, why did you call me out here?

In the fading light, Ciri turns bright red.

Ciri: I wanted to ask you, why did you become a…  Why did you join them?

It’s now Zoey’s turn to blush.

Zoey: I…  I…  I wasn’t really given a choice!  I…  They…  I had to fight, so they…

Ciri slowly begins looking horrified, causing Zoey to blush more and wave her hands in front of her face.

Zoey: It…  It really wasn’t like that!  You had to be there!  We were attacked, and…  And then I had my power before I knew what was going on!  And I beat it!

Ciri: I’m sure you did.

Zoey: What do you mean by that?

Ciri: Uh…  You wouldn’t be here if you didn’t, right?

Zoey: Ehehehe, and then once I saw the cute waitress outfit they had for me…

Zoey’s eyes appear to turn to hearts.

Zoey: It was just too cute for me to pass up!

Ciri: You’re pretty easy to satisfy, aren’t you.

Zoey’s eyes turn back to normal and she stares at Ciri.

Zoey: Um…

Ciri: It’s not a bad thing.  I just can’t help but think that that wasn’t coincidence that day.  Someone took advantage of you.

Zoey: But…  All is well that ends well right?

Ciri: Wrong!

Ciri shakes her head rapidly, tears starting to form at the corners of her eyes.

Ciri: Have you forgotten almost happened to you, just a few hours ago?!

Zoey: Ciri…

Ciri: Don’t try to comfort me!  I don’t want to be comforted!

Zoey: But–

Ciri: I’m upset, because you’re not!  This was a violation of your right to exist!

Zoey stares at Ciri in disbelief.

Zoey: But I couldn’t have beaten it without–

Ciri: You don’t know that!  You’re a human!  Humans aren’t helpless!

Zoey looks stunned by this comment, and shudders.  Ciri suddenly looks embarrassed.

Ciri: Sorry–I didn’t mean to–

Ciri is cut off as someone puts their hand on Zoey’s shoulder.  Zoey looks up with an expression that makes it seem like she’s expecting Mark, but Zoey flinches and pulls away upon realizing that it’s actually Brock behind her.  Ciri throws Brock a dirty glance.

Ciri: Just when we were about to pass the Bechdel Test.

Brock: S-sorry…

Zoey: What are you doing here?

Brock: Uh, Just wondering what you were up to…  Their about to interview Kish on TV.

Zoey: How long?!

Brock: Five minutes I think…

Ciri and Zoey both nod.

Zoey: We’ll be there.

Brock now heads back inside.

Zoey: Kish is going to be on TV?!

Ciri: So the reason I called you out here…

Zoey turns her attention back to Ciri, who’s face is red.

Ciri: …is to give you this.

With these words, Ciri pulls out something shiny and metallic, and hands it to Zoey, who is surprised by it’s weight and drops it–almost into her foot.  Zoey stares downwards at the sword sticking into the ground in shock.

Zoey: Uh–

Ciri: It’s the cursed sword Himepath, for if in case you need to fight in your human form.

Zoey stares down at the sword, completely dumbstruck.

Ciri: Pick it up, I need to know you can.

Zoey: But it’s c-cursed you said!

Ciri: The curse doesn’t affect the user.  Please pick it up, I need to know you–

Ciri cuts herself off as Zoey grabs the hilt of Himepath, and pulls it out of the ground, putting it in the scabbard that Ciri hands her.

Zoey: What does it do?!  Where did you get it?

Ciri: Amelia got ti at a swap meet.  The curse is…

Ciri trails off as she searches for the right words, and simultaneously starts walking towards her house.  Zoey turns to follow her.

Ciri: It’s sort of like Akesharam black magic, but for swords.  The less you want to kill something, the easier it is to deal a fatal blow.

Zoey: But why…

Ciri: I figured it would be beneficial for you–

Zoey starts to slow down to allow Ciri to walk ahead.

Ciri: –if you didn’t want to kill something, but you knew in your heart, as they say, that you had to.

Zoey stares down at Himepath’s scabbard and shudders, then rushes after Ciri as she continues towards the house, oblivious that Zoey isn’t with her.

New Scene()

Ciri and Zoey enter Ciri’s living room where everyone else has gathered, save for Ciri’s aunt Amelia.  A faint munching sound is coming from the kitchen, and Benjy’s Bayleef is notably absent.  In the north-west corner of the room, the TV is playing the gum commercial from the film Inside-Out.™

Ciri and Zoey sit down on the floor, and suddenly the commercial ends and the TV cuts to ONBS with Anca and Secc on set.

Anca: Good evening viewers, we’re about to bring you live footage of one of the sky-elves, who has been kind enough to talk to some of our reporters.  So lets now go to Repp, who is currently on scene.

A picture of a young man in a park appears behind Anca, and then slowly zooms forwards to cover half of the TV screen.  At this point, QST.camera synchronizes with the screen of the TV in Ms Wroshyr’s living room:

Anca: Repp, where is he?

Repp: Well Anca, when he announced that he was willing to answer questions he was thronged by reporters, and warped away.

Anca: How many reporters are there, Repp?

Repp: Thousands?  The number keeps growing and growing and growing.

Another reporter from another station now comes on the camera.

Reporter: Sir, can I ask you a few questions?

Repp: Not right now, I’m looking for someone to interview, so unless you want to answer a few questions–

Reporter: I asked you first!

Repp: But I thought about asking you first!

Reporter: But I said it!

Repp: But I thought it!

Reporter: Said it!

Repp: Thought it!

Reporter: Said it!

Repp: Shut up!

Repp and the other reporter literally bump heads, sparks darting between their eyes.

Reporter: You shut up!

Repp: No, you shut up!

Reporter: No, you shut up!

Repp: No, you shut up!

Reporter: No, you shut up!

Both bump heads again, and then start exchanging blows, striking each other with their equipment.  QST.camera de-synchronizes with Ms Wroshyr’s TV set and shifts back to the room, where Benjy is cringing in horror.

Repp’s voice: No, you shut up, you son of a (bleep)

Reporter’voice: No, you shut up you (bleep)

Benjy: Is this live?

Brock: Yup.

Max: Here comes dad’s favorite part!

Yelps from both Repp and the other reporter echo through the room, followed by agonizing groans.  Benjy looks sick.

Benjy: There’s no way he just did that.

The sound of Repp throwing up can be hurt.

Repp’s voice: You’re one (bleep)ed up mother (bleep)!

Reporter’s voice: Don’t call me a mother (bleep) you–

The section of the TV showing Repp now cuts to static with a message showing "Technical Difficulties."

Benjy: Oh wow…

Mark: Just means they broke the equipment.

Zoey nods in agreement, but shifts uneasily.

Anca: Repp?  Are you there?  Come in Repp!

Repp’s voice: I’m here, Anca.

Anca: Repp!  The camera broke!

Repp’s voice: Tell me something I *bzzt* don’t know.  We’ll have the backup online shortly!

Ash and company ( + Mark, Zoey) all stare at the TV expectantly, and QST.camera surveys them as they do.  Pikachu’s ears twitch and Skitty’s tail flicks at regular intervals, but for a few moments, this is the only motion.  Then Benjy lets out a long sigh.

Mark: Something wrong, Benjy?

Before Benjy can respond, the TV buzzes back to life.  Static appears on Repp’s part of the screen, then the visual feed of Repp is restored.  In the background, other reporters are also talking on camera.

Repp: This is Repp Anderson taking you live from the sky-elf’s press conference in Oldale Town of the Hoenn Region of the province of Selviña.

New Scene()

Dren looks quizzically at all the microphones set up in front of him.

Dren: What are these?

Dren looks left, then right, then quickly flags down a nearby reporter.

Dren: How do you work these things?

Reporter: They’re microphones, you speak into them.

Dren: Seems easy enough.

Dren approaches a microphone and clears his throat, and much to his horror the microphone screeches, causing him to fall backwards, holding his head.

Dren: What the zark–

Some of the news crews quickly come running over to Dren, asking him if he’s okay.  Dren shudders, and gets back to his feet.  Turning towards the microphones again, Dren shivers from head to toe seeing the vast sea of reporters in front of him.

Dren: Uhh…  okay…  Here goes…

Revert Scene()

Zoey: I wonder…

TV::Dren: Ladies and Gentlemen of the press, I– uh…

The flashes of cameras can be seen on Dren, as he stares over the crowd with a deer-in-the-headlights look.

TV::Dren: Um…

TV::Reporter1: Is it true that you’re attempting to take over the world?

Dren stares at the reporter for a brief moment before answering.

TV::Dren: Well…  The boss wanted to.  With him gone that plans kinda been scrapped.

The following questions are fired off at Dren rapidly, without giving him much time to think.

TV::Reporter2: What happened to your boss?

TV::Reporter3: What is your current plan?

TV::Reporter4: Why did you choose this planet?

TV::Dren: Wait-wait-wait-wait-wait…  Let me think

TV::Reporter2: This is how press conferences work.  You are aware of that, right?

Dren shudders.

TV::Dren: Not where I come from.

Narrator: Poor Dren.  But this effort would be the start of the largest rescue operation in the history of the Federation.

Dren shudders again, then as he is once again bombarded with questions calls out:

TV::Dren: One at a time!  I will call on you!

TV::Reporter2: That’s not how this works!

TV::Dren: Someone call security!

At this point, Reporter2 quiets down, allowing Dren to call on a reporter.

TV::Reporter5: So are you taking over this planet or not?

QST.camera zooms in on the TV on Ciri’s aunt’s wall, which now displays Dren on the screen, with Anca in a small box in the lower-left corner.

TV::Dren: We aren’t here to take over.  The boss, when he was alive, claimed that we had to do so in order to save the rest of our kind, back home.  Over time however, it became apparent that we were simply being used so that he could conquer this world for his own use.

Dren now calls on another reporter.

TV::Reporter6: What do your people need saving from?

TV::Dren: Our planet has gone into an ice age, of sorts.

Dren now starts to look emotional.

Benjy: He’s pulling it off…

Revert Scene()

Dren: Deep Blue came to us, and told us that it was time to retake our homeworld.  First, however we needed to purify it from your hands.

Reporter7: And you know that that’s–

Dren: Just some nonsense we were fed.  You in the corner.

Reporter8: And what would purification mean?

Dren: I’m not completely sure.  Next:

Reporter9: You said that your planet is undergoing an ice age.  What is the name of this planet?

Dren: I believe you call it Tardiddad.

New Scene(Night)

Benjy sits on the foot of Ciri’s bed as she looks around the dark room.  May is lying next to her bed, on the floor in a sleeping bag.  Max is sitting across from May.

Max: So you’re heading home huh?

Benjy: M-hm.  But it was nice getting to know everybody.  I’ll miss this place–this universe.

Ciri smiles.

Ciri: Someday, I want to go home too.

Benjy: I thought this was your home?

Ciri: It doesn’t feel that way.  I don’t know where my home is, or what it looks like, but I’ll know it without a doubt when I see it.

May: When Ciri was five, her mother left her here with her aunt.

Benjy: Really?

Ciri: Four or five, yes.  I say I’m twelve now, but that’s just an approximation.

Benjy: Really?

Max puts his hands behind his head and leans backwards

Max: They haven’t been able to pin down her birthday.

Ciri: I can’t remember anything before the day I arrived here.  It’s as if I’ve blocked it all out.

On the floor, on the other side of Ciri’s bed from Max, Ciri’s Flygon stretches out and thumps it’s tail on the carpet.

Max: Anyway, Benjy, I thought you’d be more excited, you’re finally going home

Benjy: Excitement isn’t the right word.  More like relief…

May: Relief?  From what?

Benjy: Don’t get me wrong, I’ll miss this place.  But I can only handle so much of it.

May: What do you mean?

Benjy: My world is calmer.  We don’t have Team Rocket, Deep Blue, et cetera popping up all over the place…

Benjy suddenly shudders.

Ciri: What’s wrong?

Benjy: To be honest, for the last couple months my world hasn’t been very calm.  But that probably won’t last long.

Max: That’s wishful thinking if I ever heard it.

Benjy: That’s not the point.  I don’t belong here, in this universe.

May, Max, and Ciri all look at Benjy nervously.

Benjy: It’s not that I don’t like being here but…  I’ve…  I’ve missed about two months of school–

Benjy suddenly stops talking as Ciri starts to cry.  She silently mouths "Take me with you."

Benjy: Huh?  I–I can’t lip read…

Not liking the intense emotions, Max backs up out of the room.

May: Huh?

Ciri now breaks down crying, flopping down backwards on her bed.  Her Flygon flaps it’s tail against the floor, then jumps onto Ciri’s bed and starts to lick Ciri’s tears away.  Ciri starts giggling.

Ciri: Eek!  Stop it!

May: What makes you think you don’t belong here?

Benjy: I don’t know.  This whole world seems like a dream.  But when you dream, you have to wake up sometime.

May looks at Benjy curiously.

May: You still think it’s a dream?

Benjy: I don’t know.  I won’t know until I wake up.

Ciri is now sitting up, and has managed to push Flygon off of her face.

Ciri: Looks like you got some serious culture shock coming here.

Benjy: I’d imagine you’d feel the same in my world–if it’s actually possible for you to go there.

May: If you can come here, then we can certainly go there.

Skitty lets itself out of it’s ball onto May’s lap, startling her.

Ciri: Probably.  But Benjy.

Benjy turns to Ciri who is staring at him.

Ciri: Don’t let anyone tell you that you don’t belong here.  That includes you.

QST.camera focuses in on Ciri.

Ciri: You’ve…

Ciri trails off.

Ciri: I can’t do it.  I can’t give the speech the same way the principal did.

Ciri sighs, and QST.camera zooms out a bit.

May: Are you trying to explain the law of return?

Ciri nods.

Ciri: Fenyra’s law of return works on the atomic level.

Ciri flops back down in her bed.

Ciri: Basically…  Oh how do I explain it…  You have atoms from this world in your body.  As long as you have something…  Well…

Ciri scratches her head.

Flygon: Fly?

Ciri: It’s a weird law.

Ciri rolls onto her side to face Benjy and May.

Ciri: Anyone with Fenyran atoms in their body can legally call this planet their home.  Hm?

At the foot of Ciri’s bed, Benjy is shivering.

Benjy: There’s something else I’m worried about.  I brought Satolite, Bayleef, and Shroomish from Earth, but I caught Celebi here.

Ciri: And you’re worried about taking it home?

May: Benjy, you are?  But the other pokémon were able to survive just–

Ciri: A legendary might be a different matter.  Is that what you’re thinking?

Benjy: My initial thought was that I didn’t want it to be homesick, but now that you mention it, Celebi might be tied to the anima somehow, so taking it home might be disastrous.

Ciri: Anyone who’s spent time around pokémon will know that they prefer to be around familiar people than familiar surroundings.

Benjy: I guess that makes sense, given how people train them.

Ciri: It’s a problem that not many trainers are aware of.  Benjy, I’ll think of something.

Skitty: Meow?

Ciri: I’m guessing that if he were to release it, then it might follow him, and then who knows what might happen.  One of us will have to look after it…

Ciri glances at May.

Ciri: May will hold onto it for you.

May turns bright red.

May: Me?!?!

Skitty: Meow!

Benjy removes Celebi’s poké ball from his pocket, and Celebi emerges as he does.

Celebi: Bi?

Celebi grips Benjy’s arm tightly as Benjy and the girls try to explain the situation to Celebi.  Eventually Celebi allows May to take it into her arms, and Benjy hands her Celebi’s poké ball.

May: I promise I’ll take good care of you!

Celebi looks up at May with wide, slightly teary eyes.

New Scene()

In the room in the Mew Cafe where Benjy healed Zoey, Elliot stands facing Tornamistrik.

Elliot: Tornamistrik, your actions lately have been worrisome to say the least.  Can I really trust you?

Tornamistrik: You’re asking me that?

Elliot: I won’t take your answer without a pinch of salt.

Tornamistrik: You can trust that it will all work out in the end.

Tornamistrik now turns and walks over to the computer, and sits down.

Tornamistrik: We’re up against an ever-changing threat

Elliot: I’m also concerned with your dealing with Ciri–

Tornamistrik: You caught on?

Elliot:

Tornamistrik: Very well.  If she can’t trust us completely, then she’s most likely going to be a horrific liability.  I figured I would get her out of the way now when we can still afford to make mistakes.

Elliot walks up behind Tornamistrik.

Elliot: And you think something like that will make her mind her own business from now on?

Tornamistrik:

Elliot: If you had done your homework, you’d see that she’s the James Bond of magical girls.

Tornamistrik: Which is exactly why I wanted to deal with her before she can become an s-class liability.

Elliot appears to shake from where he’s standing, behind Tornamistrik.

Elliot: We have enough enemies.  You don’t need to make more.

Tornamistrik: But enemies are easier to handle though than nuisances.  If she gets suspicious, I’ll tell her that that test was designed to simulate a Vogon’s laser beam.

Elliot: …Hoping she’ll take you for a moron?

Tornamistrik turns to face Elliot abruptly.

Elliot: You’re also a liability, trying to kill off potential allies right under my nose.

Tornamistrik: You really think she’d be anything other than a liability in battle?

Elliot: I won’t stand for murder, Tornamistrik.

Tornamistrik: So that’s what this is about.

Tornamistrik now gets up out of his chair and stretches.

Tornamistrik: Well, good luck with the Vogons then.

Tornamistrik starts walking towards the door of the room.

Tornamistrik: You’d better replace me and fast, if you want to have a snowball’s chance on Infernus.  But I don’t know where you’ll find other informants on Cosmo Entellicea.

Tornamistrik winks at Elliot as he leaves the room.

Elliot: I told you to stop killing people…

Tornamistrik: …Only when you’re around.

Elliot stares after Tornamistrik, trembling with rage.

Elliot: Zark it!

Elliot stares at his desk.

Elliot: No!  I’ll just have to treat this as a minor setback!  We can make up for this with more power and more allies.  There’s too much at stake to do anything else!

New Scene(Morning)

In Ms Wroshyr’s lab, Ms Wroshyr presses a pair of buttons, and the portal starts to power up as Ash and Company watch, along with Mark and Zoey.  The portal is an opaque purple color.  Ms Wroshyr then sticks a water balloon into the portal, and pulls it out with the balloon still intact.

Ms Wroshyr: It’s working.

May: Wow…

Ash: It really goes to another universe?

Suddenly, the Millennium Gameboy Advance pulses with light and Yami Benjy projects into the room.

Yami Benjy: Are you sure it won’t collapse?

Ms Wroshyr points out a light on top of the portal.

Ms Wroshyr: See that?  It’s called a lookahead.  It will give us a five-minute warning before the portal collapse.  And even if it were to, I can always make anoth–

The phone suddenly rings, and Ms Wroshyr picks it up.

Ms Wroshyr: Hello…    …I’ll tell him.

Ms Wroshyr now turns to Benjy.

Ms Wroshyr: It’s your Vice President Stewart, he says whenever you’re ready.

Benjy: Wait…

Benjy quickly takes the phone from Ms Wroshyr.

Brock: We’ve been in contact with your government since late last night.

Phone.Stewart: Benjy?

Benjy: Um…

Phone.Stewart: Whenever you’re ready, step through and you’ll be on Capitol Hill.

Benjy: Ok…

Benjy turns back towards everyone, almost with tears in his eyes.

Benjy: Th-thank you…

Before Benjy can step through the portal, May and Max rush up and hug him, preventing Benjy from moving.  Benjy looks stunned, unsure of what to do.  Ms Wroshyr now takes the phone from him, and tells Stewart that the children are saying goodbye.

May: I…  I won’t forget you!

Max: Promise you’ll come back sometime!

Benjy: Um…  I’ll try…  I won’t forget you.  I can’t.

Ciri now pulls May and Max away from Benjy.  Ash now reaches out and shakes Benjy’s hand, before he turns and walks towards the portal, with everyone else watching.

Benjy takes a deep breath, then tests the portal (which is slowly becoming more translucent) with a ruler.  Seeing the ruler is undamaged, Benjy puts a finger into the portal and pulls it out.  He then uses his arm.  Finally Benjy walks into the portal as everyone in the room holds their breath.
